I hesitate to respond due to the "artist" reference. I search Google and Bing images first, which failed to produce a usable image. I then start searching websites for images that accompany a review or other game reference.

That brought me to this website with a image I could work with.

For covers I have a default "cover" psd that I work in. It is a 300 dpi template. Dropping a low res image into it will sometime make a nearly usable image work.

You can save the a and b images attached below as psd's or the native format of your image editing program to create the default template image editing file. It cover image created in image a should drop right into the cover template b.

the stock scans for the first 2 Might and Magic covers do not look good with any combinations of Levels, contrast, color correction and so on. These were as close to the originals with some small adjustments to make them look halfway decent. I also redid the entire frame or border around the scan.

You can use them for whatever, but mainly a front cover for your sleeves.

I noticed a few of these are copies from this thread, I only use them for my game collector software so if I found one here and cut the front off I am sorry as I do not remember the exact place I found and edited these covers. Also I am not inclined as am artist with a tablet (Wacom tablet) or have very much luck with creating new content. But all the same I figure a few touches here and there and removing those ridiculous labels will make for a head start.

Please do me a favor and let me know if my monitor calibration is off. I have seen some images in the upload view that seem to show some horizontal scan lines in the savage frontier games.

Due to limited time, among other reasons, I don't / can't commit to projects. Sorry, there is nothing I can tell you about your scanner or monitor calibration as well.

BTW, if you are scanning covers for folks to use I would suggest you scan at 200 dpi with 300 dpi preferred. If you are just posting found covers, ignore this suggestion. The higher dpi does make editing much easier..

I just really make these covers for like I said to use use with Collectorz game collecting software - thanks to Steam, GOG and GamersGate sales I have over 400 game (140 on GOG alone) so I just want o organize them so I have a idea of what these games are. they show up at about no higher than 600 pixels so my covers usually look fine to me,. I missed the idea of printing these covers here, so you are right of course.

I did searches and found that they are original or some were just alternates and deleted ones that were not.

I attached my use for these covers, and I realize the difference in DPI.

Now that I think of it you seem to be angry about trying to help. I am eternally sorry for the thought to help some people with your cover making.

I think there was some miscommunication here. No one is expecting anybody to create covers based on these images, they are just here for those wishing to do so or use them for dosbox front ends/etc.

I had asked for them to be uploaded because they were high quality scans with good touch ups and this community is the place for that kind of thing.

Anyway while my neighbors throw large rocks at my house I was lucky to get this one done and out of the way. Wake of the Ravager was a lower quality scan than Shattered Lands but simple the same. As you can see I just blacked out the border as it was not worth the time for Pixel editing.

You want to see a ridiculous template I used for cataloging my games, check out these. I had about 6 months of this before I realized how ridiculous it was.

Looks pretty cool imo.

The actual game covers were to small in my game collector and launcher, so I scrapped this and now have a folder called just covers, I have thousands of images that I have horded over time, and its a bit overwhelming at times.

If anyone likes Winuae and Amiga RPGs and a few other Amiga classic action games I have many covers of them. But then I would be derailing the purpose of this thread.

Although I have them if anyone would want them, they still are technically covers anyway. I remember Exotica has these covers posted at their website https://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Amiga_Game_Box_Scans.

And going through some Amiga folders I found these which do not have stickers or labels:
