jamyskis: This isn't a sequel really though, is it?

It's a (holds two fingers up from both hands and wiggles them to illustrate quotation marks) "spiritual successor".
:D you can just say air quotes they even have a wikipedia page.

timppu: EDIT: So it is funded already? Ok then, I will wait and see. Somewhat interested to see how this turns out, but then I have lots of other great games waiting to be played too.

tomimt: They gathered almost 900k from KS.
860,356 $ to be precise but additional 48,479$ has been pledged thru their own store clearing the 900k strech goal. It's a shame they did not meet the 1,050,00$ goal that would've enabled modding toolkit.

I was glad they made it to the lizardmen stretch goal. It would be sad to have no lizardmen.

There's still hope just yet! I'm about to pledge towards the game's development, but I can't decide whether or not the downloadable map warrants my $50. I'm not particularly interested in the other backer goods available at that purchase level (such as the forum badge, digital strategy guide, documentary, etc.).

Edit: Convince me to buy the game and all its goodies! Does anyone have any recommendations towards purchasing the "exclusive backer rewards" ?

Well, 50$ also gives you Alpha access to the game if that interests you. 75$ would give you pre-alpha access, digital art book, underworld 1&2 as well as non-KS exclusive strech goal items. 100$ gives you boxed copy as well as extra digital copy to give to friend. At 150$ you get collectors edition box, parchament map as well as your name in credits. There's also Digital Underworld Novel by Tracy Hickman available for 5$ if you're interested. Don't really see the other addons worth it.

If you're millionaire, you could take the 150 thousand dollar "fund the modding toolkit by yourself" tier if money is burning hole in your wallet. ;-) :-p

Well, you convinced me! I'm going to put down $50 - $75 towards Underworld Ascendant whenever the next paycheck comes rolling around. I was a pretty tough sell, eh? :D

Also, I had no idea you could purchase a digital version of the Tracy Hickman book. I thought that add-on was only available in the form of an expensive hardcover. Very cool!
