Little known series that (sadly) went under the radar: THE LAST TRAIN

if yer stateside, you can probably watch a higher quality version on another service (Hulu i think?)

SpeedMuncharN: 'cause you'll get hooked and keep on watching for way too long
That's why "Luther" and "The Honourable Woman" are perfectly calibrated for that. The kind of quality that lets you enjoy and rest for an hour or two, but that you can still easily put down for sleep or even put aside for a few days.
I might go to sleep with american psycho on the tube tonight
It's not something I make a habit of really. I HAVE watched things before going to bed but it's not a ritual of mine.

Main thing that ended up backfiring on me really bad was always watching/playing scary things at night, since it's dark, and usually cutting it way too close to bedtime. I remember the first night I watched the Silent Hill movie, or watched episodes of Extreme Ghostbusters late (a surprisingly disturbing 90's cartoon), it gave me nightmares (which are rare for me now that I'm an adult). Creepypastas have done that to me too if I read them too late, although that's off-topic I suppose.

I'd only intentionally watch something specifically before going to bed if I was trying to influence a certain kind of dream.

Good idea. That movie put me to sleep every time I've ever tried to watch it. :D

I can appreciate hitting myself in the head with a hammer, that doesn't mean I want to do it. :D

Can't expect everyone to have tastes as great as mine. :p

tinyE: UNLESS the Cardinals are on the west coast, then I fall asleep to that.
Man do I hate West Coast games.

Riotact: Going to watch The Thing (Kurt Russell version) with my son shortly while pigging out on crisps and coke (a-cola) :P
And boy do I love this movie! The recent prequel wasn't too bad, not too bad at all. Especially considering the state of most prequels / reimaginings / remakes.

If I do anything "media related" it's usually to play video games or watch baseball before bed. I used to read in bed, but I prefer to do that earlier in the day now. When actually "going to sleep" it's lights off!

That is one of my favorite movies of all time! I can't wait until my kids are old enough that I can sit watch it with them. Well it would be more accurate to say "When my wife thinks they are old enough to watch it" as I saw the movie back when it first came out on home video, I'm thinking I was 6 or 7 at the time. Scarred the bejeesus out of me and I loved every second of it.

It is a classic. A must have for any collection.

Glad my parents never "protected" me from horror movies either.

It's the movie that taught me how to beat computer chess.

Or any videogame actually.

Yeah, that will do it. :P
The new series by the Wachowski's on Netflix, Sense8 so far is off to a good start. I'd recommend it to any that want a drama/sci-fi series.

(I wouldn't watch it before bed though as you'll likely want to see more than one or two episodes.)
