Anyone else like to watch 1 or 2 episodes from a series to guide them to slumberland? I think I'll put up a Futurama episode tonight. Hopefully (problems with postal service) later this year I'll be able to buy the entire Talespin/Gooftroop series as well, to really send me off to lalaland in style.

Good night!
Not a tv show but I like watching the movie behind the green door before bed.
I usually fall asleep with the t.v. on but it's either a horror film, something on the ID channel, or something war related on History.

UNLESS the Cardinals are on the west coast, then I fall asleep to that.
Going to watch The Thing (Kurt Russell version) with my son shortly while pigging out on crisps and coke (a-cola) :P
If I choose to fall asleep to something, it's usually a standup comedy show that I've already seen several times before. I can't fall asleep if I'm watching something new.
Well, I heard this is actually quite a bad habit (messes up your sleep patterns and whatnot), but what the heck, live on the edge, I say!

I often watch a show or two before going to sleep, usually something I've watched a couple of times before, so it doesn't matter how long I last. I'm a bit of a nightowl (get far more work done in the evening hours than in the morning), so it's a nice way to unwind some.

Yeah, Church events are really boring.

The way they are playing this year it is a religious experience. :D

Hey since the OP is gone and sports has been mentioned, do other countries have All Star games? I can't say I've ever heard of a once a year game where the of the best best from, as an example lets say The English Premier League, play a big exhibition.

Not in bed - I read instead - but if on a lazy afternoon I feel like taking a nap, I'll usually put PBS on with the volume low.

Here, son, enjoy a nice sugar rush followed by a really gross-out horror movie... then bed time for you! I'm sure his dreams will be peaceful and serene.
I do only ever watch TV when I want to go to sleep and just can't, meaning I intend to fall asleep on the couch while watching.
In which case cartoons seem to work well. Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Simpsons - anything that can hold my attention just enough to not make me want to stay awake and actively watch what's going on.
Sitcoms can do that too, depending on how much my brain feels like someone's been pumping cement into it.

I don't, however, watch TV before going to bed. I watch to get sleepy and if I then have to get up and actually do anything that will undo all the sleepiness.
Lately "Luther" and "The Honourable Woman" are fulfilling this very function, here.
I love Suits but it's a bit dangerous to watch before bed 'cause you'll get hooked and keep on watching for way too long
