You shouldn't restrict that to just man.

Never restrict a statement to just one gender when the statement could be applied to all of them.

I wasn't the one who introduced the gender stuff, and I didn't mention politics at all.

I was more trying to make a silly jab at your seeming interjection of "gender politics" in various threads on rare occasions......so if it seemed otherwise or me doing it for some other reason then know that wasn't my intent.

(Also by politics I didn't mean govt type politics, in case that bit was confusing somehow....but i've derailed the thread enough already....back on topic.....)

Another one:

Never assume that a generic person shares your religious beliefs, or is interested in converting to your religion.
Never pick your nose and eat it .......... when someone might be watching.
If you believe in ghosts, don't do it at all.
Especially be wary of the Boogey Man .... he may want revenge.

Some things in life are a real booger.

Good one/entry....though I will likely still wish people Merry Christmas around December and say "Bless You" when people sneeze. :)

(If they choose to say "Not interested"/similar that's fine, though, as I also don't try to convert anyone or want people trying to convert me unless I was up to such)

Never make jokes at the expense of others.

Never put anything in a joke that would be offensive if taken seriously. ("It's just a joke" is not an excuse.)

Never open a bash shell and do (as root)

There's your problem right there .... jokes aren't meant to be taken seriously.

Everything is offensive to someone.

At the end of the day though, it is really about not doing stuff in poor taste or bad judgment ... always consider others.

Doing jokes about poor people if you are an affluent one, is a perfect example.

Walk a mile in their shoes and see how funny it is.

Agreed, though some(I mean everywhere in life/in general) will look for offense in anything/see it in anything, no matter how much one tries not to offend, and as such it's often better to be civil yet be one's self......this is why I often joke evenly & "across the board" on almost any topic**, as I believe in the stance from one South Park Episode(I know, a silly TV show but it made a good point imo).....i.e. everything is allowed in jokes or nothing is.

(**-Of course there are exceptions....time and place/etc.....some more crude or crass jokes/talk I keep to private chats with people or on other sites more suited for such "bar room talk")

I feel even this is ok if among friends in private and/or done tastefully......take the people who play bums in comedy skits/in comedy shows, for example.

(i.e. a comedy skit with a bum character to me=okay, while people laughing in actual bum's faces=not okay)

That's just it......life is too short for any of us to let ourselves get offended at everything we can, or to overly worry if things we say or do might be offensive to others.

I say people should just be as nice as they can while being true to themselves and people should pick and choose more carefully what to let themselves be offended by(i.e. let the lesser things slide like water off a duck's back when possible).

Never not read the gameplay tips in Warcraft 2.

Never pet a burning dog.
Don't spit into the wind.
Never do what I tell you to do. (this included)

Oops!, maybe a little too deep, but I guess there are quite a few of us types around, though not easily detectable...

Oh!, and to swiftly get back on topic...
