The yellow arrow that indicates I have game updates is only partially showing now. The left part of the triangle is visible, but the rest of the arrow is invisible. This is the first time I've seen this issue.

That's because GOG's "recent posts" really means "recent posts in recent threads".
For example, a post I wrote on 20 Aug in a thread created on 20 Aug is listed, but a post I wrote on 24 Aug in a thread created on 18 Aug is not.

The news "Release: Kraken Academy!!" from September 10 (yesterday) redirects to the "Coming Soon" news from back in May, even if I try accessing it directly through the link https://www.gog.com/news/release_kraken_academy

Seems fine to me (inasmuch as GOG's search is fine, that is). Not sure whether you meant catalog/store search or forum search so tried both, catalog search both from the top bar in a forum page and from the store page and forum search both from the general forum and from this thread.
