I saw that this morning. Very exciting! Such an ambitious goal and it was achieved with time to spare :D

EDIT: I couldn't type....

Since it reached its initial goal, I just backed for $65
A good friend of mine just emailed me about Witchmarsh, so I pointed him to The Universim. He loves it, so we may have another backer on the way!

I'm looking at popping my level up to $80 now, if it can be done via PayPal. I only wish that the next funding goal was for the Dinosaurs Era. Multilingual support seems to be something that really HAS to be included in games these days, rather than an extra.

EDIT: And money sent. Little rocket come to me! :D

zeffyr: Go check this out!
Ok, had a look. It's fully funded, and have no particular interest on the stretch goals. So I'll pass, and buy it after release if it's any good.
My main motivation to pledge right now would be the assumption that it will cost more than $15 on launch, and so this would have been some kind of discount. But without knowing how much of a discount it will be, and the release being a couple years away, that's not a strong enough reason to push me over the edge. If I can wait several years for the game, I can wait a little while more for it to go on sale. It'd be nice to see it come to GOG someday too.

You can blame GOG's timing for this: the Insomnia sale drained my budget and game-purchasing energies. ;)

Very glad to see it reached its funding goal, however!

Perhaps pity me, as I just threw in $10 more to get the early-bird deal on the $100 tier. I really will stop this time. :/

May I ask why?
Looks awesome. I'll buy a copy for sure if it comes to GOG.

I'd get my contribution up to the next tier level. I left around 40$ on my payment card and it's reserved for The Universim, but I'd like to contribute more. Unfortunately, the KS deadline is coming earlier.

Wanting to get to a higher tier is understandable, what I don't get is why you'd want to contribute more to the campaign once their goal has been reached. There's multilingual support, that I personally don't particularly care for but even if you do, I somewhat doubt Polish will be a priority. Then there are dinosaurs, which sounds ok (dinosaurs are cool), but why should I be excited about dinosaur age without people in a management sim? And so on.

Just curious. Re-reading now, you might just been happy about Sinistar being happy. I will be happy about him being happy too.

Happiness for all of us! :) Personally I don't care about different languages, but I'd like to see dinosaurs era and live news system, but still it's a long way up.

live news makes me think online, don't care about that. Unless it's live news about what's happening, and that is typically pretty lame so I don't care all that much either. Simcity 3000 had some that made me chuckle, such as commenting about police arresting people sticking gum under the public seats if you set the police budget too high, but it is not something I would root for.

But we each like different things, so whatever. The more they manage to expand the game, the better I suppose.
$350,000 has been met. $50,000 more for the dino era stretch goal!
