Though the only way to make it worse would be to tack on a QTE sequence at the end. I thought developers had started to get the message; WE HATE QTES!

QTE aren't bad if they're done right. God knows that God of War 2 final boss was fuckin tense!

blame EA for giving bioware, i think it was about a year(!!!) less than they demanded to make ME3

I still can't fathom why anyone cares about that game. It looks incredibly dull.

There's this myth that every Sony exclusive is a good game by default.Every console has it's share of fanatics but the passion and aggressiveness of Sony cult is admirable/despicable.

and I thought the ending of Mass Effect 2/3 was a cop out.

Watched Giant Bomb play that tosh, it looks like one of the most boring games I've ever seen. It's such a shame too, because the assets are amazing. Even Ryse looks more interesting.

Remember this was a game that was delayed for more than a year. And the best they could do was a QTE battle for the ending.

And Sony decided to cancel a first party Open World Space Game that was in development for 4 years...

They said The Order took five years, but that can be several redesigns. There might not have been much done at E3 2013.

Redesigns or not, that's just sad.

Sony may be wining the numbers game right now with console sales. But the Order 1886 floundering about like a fish out of water isn't going to help the matter. No Man's Sky, Uncharted, Persona 5, and others are latter in the year not sooner. I have this impression that Sony was expecting good things out of this title, which when you think about it... kind of sad.

Lackluster game play and plot that is short, no multiplayer or co-op, no new game plus. What did Ready at Dawn spend 5 years on? Graphics... because it doesn't seem to have bought them credibility in review and recommendations. And now because of their stupidity on social media, they have serious issues to contend with.

Sony does bad when they get arrogant, amazing things happen when they get humble.

How much of it was Sony deciding, though? Maybe they were pushing for a visual masterpiece, even cutting the screen and limiting area size. And with the QTEs, I guess they wanted a visual answer to Ryse, and they got it! It's just as useless.

Underpowered as they are, you would think the consoles would focus on gameplay and originality.

yeah, sure. The first time. Then you die, and restart, and do it over and over again until you're sick of it.

Well, not you specifically; me specifically. I'm bad with QTEs, and I rage quitted God of War 2 on the final boss due to that. Twice. Please let me kill the enemy normally, there's nothing worse than chipping a boss' health down to 15%, triggering and failing the QTE, and being back at 60% health. There are games, such as Castlevania 2, that I have completely abandoned due to this practice.

True, its difficult to accurately gauge how much control corporate had. But you have to think Sony would have someone pop in every once and a while and see how things are going.

On game play and originality, wholeheartedly I agree. I think for too long Sony's R&D has focused on shooters. Most of the gameplay over graphics are coming from indies working with Sony these days, not internally. That's going to bite them in the ass.

Think of it what you will, I wish the PS4 had a Sunset Overdrive right now. Or that it at least comes to PC.
