Gimme A New Game For This Here New Year, Barkeep!

In for Spate, thank you!
I Don't Need A New Game To Enjoy A New Year, Pardner

Great job on doing this giveaway, don't need a game when the sound of music is just as enjoyable, you'll know what I mean NoNewTaleToTell! :) +1 for a somewhat western gunslinger approach to this giveaway! Hope the new year brings new enjoyable games to your collection to play or even ones to trade!
Just another small bump...
One final bump, the giveaway ends later today, join while you can!

Seriously, at a very first time I have no idea why you gave Me a game key on PM earlier, then I found this thread and get the answer XD

Thanks NoNewTaleToTell for a chance and congrats to the other Winner! :D

Thanks for annoucement and congrats to the winners. I am surprised people only asked for two games from such a fine list, well that's just how things turn out I guess. Let's hope the others find a new home eventually.
Check the OP for a new giveaway, or don't, I'm a random person on a forum dedicated to games, not an out of work stormtrooper.
Hey! Why not?! I love supporting fellow artists. SO! Sometimes I Sing Into My Hairbrush and Pretend I'm David Lee Roth (it's not true!!!!!)

I'm a writer. I write lots of things. Philosophical ramblings, poetry, short stories, novels, screenplays. I mostly write screenplays these days. However, I REALLY don't like sharing my writings AT ALL, though I do want to share them with the world and have them be heard and have an influence. It's quite a conundrum that I've not yet figured out how to get beyond. I'm going to go do some right now!
Small bump here...
I had marked this thread and finally had a chance to listen to your album while I do some programming. Therefore

Sometimes I Sing Into My Hairbrush and Pretend I'm David Lee Roth

(except that I don't have a hairbrush and I pretend to be Bowie)

I'm not a creative type so I can't share anything. I do try to find independent artists but I could not say I have a favourite as I use some sources to find new people every other week or so.

I listen to the Bandcamp weekly show, pick some tunes on NoiseTrade.
Not sure if you would consider the artists with Asthmatic Kitty or Merge as indie but I check the additions to their catalogs.

Finally, while posting this I remembered a Mexican band that had dissapeared for many years and recently reassembled with a new vocalist: Porter.

Thanks so much for these!
Sometimes I Sing Into My Hairbrush and Pretend I'm David Lee Roth
(I really do!)

I don't have anything of mine to share but I'd like you to meet this guy, Tomas Dvorak a.k.a. Floex. I like his music and among other things he composed the music for Amanita's Machinarium (http://www.gog.com/game/machinarium_collectors_edition).

The I Don't Care About Rep But Here's A Giveaway Anyway Giveaway is now officially over, drealmer7, madth3 and RenKalan are your winners. A big round of applause to our winners and everybody else who participated...err...aka the winners!

Now for a question to all you fine forum folks: How can I make this thread less of a dud? Admittedly the last two giveaways have had less than glamorous prizes, and I do usually ask for a little bit of effort (even if it's just saying why you want the prize) than the usual giveaway, but to me it feels like it has screeched to a complete halt.

I would like to (and indeed will) continue giving back to the forum as the forum has kindly given to me and many others, but I don't want to create a hundred giveaway threads, however hosting a giveaway that gets less than five entries isn't very fun for anybody involved.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how I could revive this thread without resorting to giving away $50 games and/or 50 games at a time? I'm not holding giveaways in hopes of finding fame or rep fortune or whatever, but I'm being honest and open about wanting more participation in the future. Any feedback is welcome, even if it's just saying "your thread is dead, let it be rest in peace".
Speaking only for myself, I find it hard to keep track of episodic threads like this one - you've set up your initial post well, but it's always a little confusing when there's action in the middle. On thing that might make it easier in future is a link on your first post to the beginning of the later-in-the-thread giveaway. It's just always confusing.

I think you're correct in asking for participation; since we ramble for the most part in similar circles, though, it's always likely that some games will be hard to place in happy new homes, because we have them already. I had this problem trying to give away Age of Wonders - it just wouldn't go. Nature of the beast.

I give a lot of my less-stellar keys to the Bonza giveaway, and I'm always delighted when someone wins one from there.
