Can't buy Commandos series from Germany anymore, because German laws forbid anti-nazi games.
Thanks, GOG! -.-

Germany has crap laws and it's somehow GOG's fault = Internet logic. :)

They had no issue with that in the past six years. Now they suddenly have, because they launched a German store page.
This is not what GOG stood for. All that regional shit now makes them yet another digital distributor, and not a fighter for the DRM free revolution where every human is treated equal anymore.

I can access the English store, but I can not buy it there because of German laws.

Well, I have had the games already, but what is next? You can only get censored versions of I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream? Half of the games are just not released in Germany because our nazi politicians still defend the Third Reich in any way they can?

We can change the language, but two games (for the time being) are Geolocked by IP. Germans only see 404 where the product page should be.

Germany got crap laws yesterday?
Yeah, while I've been having some fun with these censorship threads, this is getting old. It's like blaming the bartender for refusing to sell to a minor.

I'm willing to pay good money for a minor.

Only if that bar is from a country where selling it to a minor is allowed and the minor is from a country where it is not allowed.

There is only one to blame for this - our German government and laws. I'd rather have some games not available than no GOG ( or any other retailer/service) at all.

But - boy I am glad that the law protects me 52 year old guy from being influenced by bad bad things... Just feel so more secure now.

Well it's more like a bartender in Germany refusing to sell beer to an 18 year old, because the customer is American.

Are you suggesting that bars travel?

Nope like Australia, both refuse to get there crap together when it comes to gaming. Has anyone ever stopped and think maybe GOG didn't realize it was against the law in Germany until they started working on there German version and got (German probably) lawyers involved?

All the fuss over a game, a vast majority of Germans GOGers and gamers in general probably don't really care about. There simply mad at the situation.

By the way DRM is restriction after sale, if you haven't bought it then it's technically still DRM free... DRM has nothing to do with your ability to buy something.
