Mr_Chaos: But that is the "Herlich Willkommen" sale. :D

deleted_user:
Well I think it's the only weekend sale your going to get. I also have no idea what "Herlich Willkommen" is... :P
"A hearty welcome" if I were to translate it somewhat literally :P

Herz = heart, lich = probably a German-specific suffix, Willkommen = welcome :D
Hey Judas, how is your day going so far? :P

Piece it out then. Willkommen is obviously welcome, and the rest should fall in to place.

Ah okay that makes sense then, thanks Judas. :)

If that is obviously welcome than me and you have two very different ideas of what Willkommen looks like. That looks nothing like what Judas translated it to be in English.

I'm not from Germany, but a little research says otherwise:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games#Germany
§ 130 and § 131 make it to a criminal offense to do following with corresponding scriptures:

1. distributing / selling
2. issuing in public, demonstrating or otherwise making available
3. leaving it to a person under the age of 18
4. producing, buying, delivering, storing, offering, announcing, praising, importing or exporting to use them within the meaning of the letters 1 to 3.

This means, that the import or purchase and the possession for personal use are still legal for persons over 18 years.
It's all in the article you found. It's completely legal for adults to buy this games and import them to Germany for personal use.

It is - that is at the end of many adjecitves, like "gemütlich" (snugly), "glücklich" (happy), "jährlich" (yearly) and so on.
Well, I'm not planning to comment on that topic for very much longer, but interestingly, came across this or this (online petition regarding censorship in Germany).
That's like, less than 50 people that actually care enough to fill in some online form.
There must be more people bitching in the Gog forum right now.

And just for contrast: bring back the lightbulb.

Protoss: They had no issue with that in the past six years. Now they suddenly have, because they launched a German store page.
This is not what GOG stood for. All that regional shit now makes them yet another digital distributor, and not a fighter for the DRM free revolution where every human is treated equal anymore.
I can access the English store, but I can not buy it there because of German laws.[..]
I would be annoyed too, if GOG suddenly decided to block my access to some games because.. they added a forum in my language..
I'd prefer the previous worldwide access only in english, then!

Correct, but it's illegal for the seller to sell it to Germans in Germany. At-least that is my understanding. So no the consumer is fine if they manage to get, but GOG as the seller is not.
Everyone is in here bitching and moaning and I just found out Leonard Nimoy passed away. Maybe we should put aside our grievances for a bit.

Yes, it's illegal to sell it for shops located in Germany. But GOG isn't. A German storefront doesn't make them a German shop.

And I still wonder why the put a lock on Commandos 2+3 as well. It was never banned in Germany.
