I'm in the UK and I'm getting between 30 and 100 KB/s... for a 6.9 GB download. Periodically this seems to get interrupted which corrupts the download too, meaning I have to start again.

What's the deal? Downloads for me from other sites are fine, or at least with MB/s ranges. I would prefer to do business with GoG of all game providers, but currently this is completely untenable and if it doesn't change I'll have to buy from elsewhere.
I just downloaded a few GB with 18 MB/s which is the full capacity of my internet connection. No problems here.

I'm assuming you're using Windows 10 and GoG Galaxy. If you're not, please let us know what you are using.

if you are, that's usually a sign that Galaxy can't get past your firewall. Depending on what firewall you're using, go into it's setting and make sure that Galaxy can get past it.

Many of us are still using the older downloader. I know I am:

There's a couple of recent threads on this topic if you go back a page or two on the forums.

Hope this helps
I'm on Mac and I just got the downloader. The speed is much faster for Pillars of Eternity, but it has no mention of what version it is - and it looks like none of the DLC or extra content is up for it in the "downloader links" page. Any ideas?

EDIT: Actually I think all the links are up, they've just not been curated very well. There's a big dump of both Windows and Mac links seemingly under "Pillars of Eternity - Linux - DLC". Hopefully I'll be okay.

My main reservation for using GoG Galaxy is I'm really not a fan of achievements in old school CRPGs, I think it's a little off that achievements for a serious RPG should ever be dictated. Is there a way to permanently disable achievements in GoG Galaxy so I don't ever have to see them in game? If so I'll just get that.

Are you big on MP because you might just want to get rid of Galaxy then. I don't use it because I could care less about achievements or MP.

I should have made it clearer I don't currently use Galaxy, it was what I was attempting to imply. Are the achievements mandatory in it or not? If the download speeds are much faster I might pick it up, it seems like GoG poorly supports games otherwise (I know for Pillars of Eternity there hasn't been update files for different patch versions, which Galaxy users report there is, I've had to go for a fresh ~20 GB install every time I've wanted to play the game without using Galaxy).

oh shit, sorry if I misread that then.

I wish I could be of more help but I live in the middle of nowhere so when most people mention a super slow download it's actually really really fast compared to where I am. :P

No worries. With the downloader it does seem much faster (or at least 0.5 MB/s, which is serviceable). I'm surprised it's not a little more prominent on the website, for those who don't want tot use Galaxy.
