I like how the OP was just asking about traits of various countries, and the thread quickly devolves into everybody posting only negative aspects and trying to turn the thread into this one:

seleapi: Italians do it better :D

KingofGnG: Italians are full of shit and oh-so full of themselves. They think they are at the top of fucking everything just because we have one of the most rich cultural histories in the world.

Italians like to live in the past and can't use their brain for shit. Just look at how dumb and criminal are the politicians that ruled the country (and still rule it) during the latest 40-20 years...

Wake the fucking up: we are good for almost nothing, in the modern world. We invented the modern CPU (Federico Faggin), we almost invented the computer industry (Olivetti) and then destroyed it to please the fucking politicians and corrupted parties.
And some of us appearently cannot get jokes. -_-

P.S. At least the food is good.

It's shit in so many ways, but at least it's not a sand or snow desert.

Rottencorpsex: Are German ppl really that meticulous?
Decreasingly. It's something that has up- and downsides.
I'm quite a meticulous person.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
Most people tend to be overcritical about their own countries without realizing no place is perfect.
Italy, for example, is terrible at some things, but if you travel enough you'll see that any country has its problems. We tend to see only the worst things and we are blind to the good ones. For example, we have a pretty decent health care, compared to other countries, but everyone here is obsessed with our issues and fails to see it.
We are actually one of the first countries in the world by life expectancy, but everyone is too angry to appreciate it.
It is absolutely right to be critical and to work to spread the light on other people on how corrupted and malevolent our countries are, but we should never forget why we do this, and that's because we love the good things in our homelands, which is why we would want to make them better places to live in.

It's really not possible to generalize about this country. It's big and diverse, contrary to what some people in the country might think.

On the other hand, the "None" religion is one of the fastest growing religions, especially among young people.

Being a convinced agnosticist myself, i can't honestly picture it as a bad thing.

Me neither (though I identify as an atheist myself).

It seems like foreigners/tourists are always the quickest to point out how nice your country is. I feel like there's some sort of lesson to be learned from this.

Neither was mine. I was just talking about the majority.

I'm a Christian myself. Just as long as we all don't start hating on each other about our differences as usual, the statistics don't really matter to me.

Well, if you read the OP, he mentioned mostly hillarious, cliched or downright absurd traits, but regardless, its probably the negative traits that come to mind first in the troubled times we live in.

But, wait, you're from Canada! Everybody's supposed to be nice there! There are bad things in Canada outside of the weather and the attack moose?

I think the fastest growing religion is the corporate market economy.
Everybody believes in it blindly and does not question it.
It is above human life and well-being, above the survival of the species, above everything.
You dont question the need for large corporations to prosper and you dont question your government giving them all your tax money if they are in trouble.
If you or your family get sick because of the pollution they create, you accept it graciously as a will of god and a necessary sacrifice on the way to "progress".....even if deep inside you suspect that said progress is actually profit not progress.

Greed has risen from a sin to an ideology, hasn't it?
It's only logical, that modesty has fallen from the status of a virtue to become a sin.

Alright there, pal, I'm afraid you're coming down to the station with me. It seems you've had a bit too much to think. I'm giving you a citation for excessive deepness on a thread full of nonsensical gripes and TINYE, out of all the dang things! How DARE you expose us to social commentary in not only his presence, but on a website full of drunken gamers?
Get in the back.

Lol yeah of course you're perfectly right.
Probably the funniest trait of canadians is that they insist they are different from americans when they are exactly the same.

Yes, reminds me of something from the book The Dream of the Red Mansion by Cao Xue Qin.
On the gate to the illusory land of grand void it was written: when false is taken for truth, truth becomes false.

Haha Zeogold, thank you from bringing some light hearted comments, i tend to get too gloomy too fast :P
Now whats the meaning of "playing with the siren"? Sorry my knowledge of slang and cultural reference is not up to snuff
Oops sorry im an idiot, the siren of your police car lol ok
