The pack includes core game, gold edition upgrade DLC, one more gold edition related DLC and the gold (upgraded) edition itself, so are they different things? Or if you buy the whole pack you would buy two "gold edition Pit"s (1 core game + upgrade DLS and 1 already upgraded version)?

warned you on the title about this being a stupid question but I honestly got confused :d

Gold Edition includes the base game, the Mindgames DLC and the Gold Edition upgrade. Hope it's clearer.

You can safely untick the base game, Mindgames and the Gold Edition Upgrade, if you just buy this Gold Edition.

Don't worry. You are not the only confused by this mess.
awww just realized there's no necromancer dlc :/

there's something wrong here I think: I just bought the pack without the gold edition (the already upgraded core game) so the pack is core game, gold upgrade and all the DLCs. Now the gold edition includes the necromancer but after installing all the items it still says I have to get necromancer DLC. :S

***update***

just realized necromancer wasn't in the package because it's not on sale :)

So if someone has only the base game, they only need the gold upgrade?

As i understand, if you get mindgames you get the upgrade for free... i think...

No, you also need the Mindgames DLC.

Bear with me a bit:

Gold Edition. Contains the base game, Mindgames DLC and the Gold Edition Upgrade.

I understand that the gold edition has all what you said, but I was asking as if somebody only had the base game. Nothing else. no other DLCs. Gold edition would mean buying the base game AGAIN.

True that.

buying the base game in various editions a number of times is unnecessary. (well, except for those who don't have the base game already)
It's confusing as can be. I would have walked away from the whole mess, except it's such a terrific game.

To keep things simple, i'd say get the gold version and wait for all the DLC to be packed into the Platinum edition upgrade... Course if they all stay separate installers it still remains a confusing mess.

Although if files are only being replaced, i could probably extract all the files and rebuild it as a single installer...or just combine it into an iso that i mount and play removing the need to install it...

As I said above, if you only have the base game, you can't buy the Gold Edition Upgrade on its own. As you can in the Gold Edition Upgrade's page, you'll need to also buy the Mindgames DLC.
well I didn't have the core game so what i did was I unchecked the gold edition (the item at the top) then purchased the rest. This sale was for the new necromancer DLC which is not included in the package. If you already have the core game without any DLCs just uncheck gold edition (not the upgrade) and the core game when purchasing.

Also installing them requires some attention, once you install the core game you have to install mindgames DLC and gold upgrade DLC after that. Otherwise installer can't recognize the core game version lol

hey there are these confusing things etc but still I dig this platform, I'm thinking these issues will be good guides for GOG galaxy
