It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

just a quick question,
my downloads take forever, mainly as I live in middle of nowhere, but can I stop the download completely, not just pause, for instance shut the pc down go to bed.
then next day click on the appropriate download again and it will re start where it left off?
cheers for help
No, unless you use Galaxy or the old GOG downloader or maybe some third party software.

EDIT: Well, there might be web browsers with such functionality built in, what do I know but I know of none.

Hmm, I do the opposite: have it download the big stuff when I'm off to bed. That way the download gets the full meager connection speed while I'm asleep, and will hopefully be finished when I need to use the connection the next day for other stuff.

Yeah that is me too. Especially if I am using the mobile internet connection for the transfer, i get much better speeds at night (because hardly anyone else is using it in the area at the same time).

As others pointed out already, isn't that completely counterproductive? If your bandwidth is so small, wouldn't you want to download mainly at night when you're not actively using your computer and take advantage of the full available bandwidth for the download?
