We'd like to inform you that on Tuesday, December 5th, we will be removing Star Control: The Ur-Quan Masters and Star Control: The Kessari Quadrant from GOG catalogue. There is an ongoing discussion between the original developers and Stardock, which leads us to this removal. For some more details you can read a recent blog post by Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III.
We hope this is just a temporary thing and both games will get back to the catalogue. Of course if you have the game already, you won't be affected by the removal.

There's no control with those games' rights.

Thank you for the heads up.
Thanks for the heads up. Screw Stardock.
I don't like Stardock.

BTW: Thanks for the sneaky 16% discount, that finally made me buy the second one.

It's just the bundle purchase discount, applied if both Star Control games are bought together.
Obviously, you have already owned the first game. :-)

By the way, I'm not a Stardock fan too.
The reason is their DLC policy, which makes games seem always incomplete.

The first two Star Control games are not subject to that policy though.

Just a small note from me too, that this kind of information is highly appreciated, please keep it going.
I missed too many games on GOG some of which never came back.

Could you make those to be blue NEWS threads in the future?
It's quite important and shouldn't be missed.

Stardock seems to be run by petulant children and amateur developers. They've been extremely hostile to me in the past for "daring" to ask questions about their products (I was even a paid-up Object Desktop customer at the time). I have seen them treat many others equally rudely.

I really hope Toys for Bob can successfully block Stardock from touching their games. IMHO, Stardock is not good enough to be associated with Star Control in any way.
Thanks for the heads up. Sucks if people get affected by seriously immature and narrow sighted business decisions and the silly drama-baggage that comes with that.

I hope that Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford do succeed when it really turns into a full-scale legal action and at any case I'm excited to play Ghosts of the Precursors once its out. I'm glad I didn't spend any money on "SC:Oranges".

Stardock? More like Star-dick, hehe.

Agree on this. I miss a lot these threads cause they are not in an official blue colour.
Downer, cheers for the heads up.
Hope this isn't some Descent-like problem,as that could go horribly wrong and leave the games unavailable for further purchase. They are already under my control inside my library ;).Thx for the info.Cheers
