This is the official thread for reporting suspicious activity on the forums. If you see any bots breaking the rules by spamming, advertising, posting shady links to weird websites - report them here! Moderation Team will do their best to keep such posts to a minimum but, as you might imagine, it's impossible to keep an eye on every single thread 24/7. That's why we need your help, anti-spam force! :)

Big kudos to everyone who created and contributed to the unofficial thread!

Please keep in mind that this thread is for reporting ONLY! Any offtopic discussion will be removed. Cheers!

Only report bot accounts/spam in this thread. Its purpose is not to report other users. If you see a user who you believe is breaking the rules, message Staff privately instead.

Been trying to post all day but stuck in a loop. Hoping that this will go through and I can edit it....

Edit:

Obviously something wrong with the links so I'll post the bot accounts - both found in the Baldur's Gate Series forum;

https://www.gog.com/u/amadouborisdiallo

And still there a bot reported five days ago...

I'm posting here because there isn't a proper reporting mechanism:

Anyway, thread OP has been making threads touting the virtues of games on a disc-based format over buying games on GOG and isn't happy that he's failing to recruit people to his way of thinking, so he decides to insult another user and asks if they have either ADHD or dementia.

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/chatgpt_what_happens_to_my_gog_games_if_gog_goes_out_of_service/post53

The forum regulations specifically states:
- Do not intentionally insult or offend others.
- We don’t tolerate hate speech, intimidation, harassment, sexual, racial, or ethnic slurs, and discrimination.

Now I'll let the people with ADHD speak for themselves on this if they wish to, so I'll speak in only in regards to dementia as I had a grandfather develop dementia from a stroke before he passed away. It's a distressing experience to find yourself become a total stranger to someone that is your own relation (and more so when it's a parent or grandparent that was very involved in your upbringing.) It's not okay to be asking someone if they have this disease as a means of showing disrespect or to suggest that we should look down on anyone that has developed dementia.

The poster above needs a friendly reminder that good manners are a way of showing others that you care about them. If that's too much to ask for, good manners are a way to signal to others that you are dependable and can think beyond your own immediate wants. They make social situations easier for everyone to navigate.

Also because this is probably the third thread now on this subject, perhaps he also needs a friendly reminder to not spam the forum with the same topic over and over again.

edit - fixed a typo. :)

There actually is a "proper" reporting mechanism in place for such cases.

PM the blues responsible for the forums.
(yes - you will need to enable PM in your account to make use of that "proper" mechanism". Sucks, but that's the way, GOG wants this to be done. shrug)

There's also

But I don't know whether s/he is still around.

I'm now positive, that the "user" in question is a bot:
