So we have Paradox:

We have Kerberos:

And we have a game from the SOTS universe:

Has there been any kind of word at some point as to why we wouldn't have the original Sword of the Stars game? I know the Second game has been heavily criticized, but the first one seems to be held in good regard.

I had, and was enjoying the game at one point, but it was one of those things I paid very little for but was also tied to one of those companies that no longer exists. I figured once we got “The Pit” that it would turn up, but it's been long enough now to be fairly certain that it's not going to happen. I ask this knowing full well that the game is like $2.50 on Steam right now. At $2.50 I shouldn't be that worried about where I get it, or how long I'm going to have it, but I did lose it once and I'm not sure when I would actually start playing it again. So getting it here would be my ideal.

Click this. There is a button with “vote” on it. Click that as well.

**edit for wishlist link

The best place to vote for SotS1 would be this wishlist entry for the Complete Collection (base game + 3 expansions):

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/sword_of_the_stars_complete_collection

It was previously incorrectly marked as completed, but I made a support ticket about it, and it has now been corrected. It's the SotS1 wishlist entry with the most votes already. With Paradox on board, this should be an easy addition to GOG catalog, unless Paradox only has publishing rights for certain regions.

Nothing official at all but that's not surprising, as GOG is always tight-lipped on those matters. Also, Sword of the Stars is not self-published (unlike The Pit), so it would have been impossible for it to come here before Paradox's arrival (which occurred for real just this February). As is the case with GOG, they prefer releasing games from big publishers sporadically, so I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being released next year. All I can say is, patience.

I take it this just happened, because I sure would have linked to that one if I had seen it. This is a much better W.L. entry. I wasn't a fan of the other one, but I didn't want to make a dupe.

I have updated my link, thank you.
