Do GOG games update automatically?

Can I copy the games to other computers so I can play it with other people?

Can I share copies with my friends so we can play online?

Is there some library sharing feature like in Steam so my friends and I can share libraries ?

Is there a way to add games got somewhere else to my library?

Can I link other accounts beside steam, PSN, Xbox live, or anything else so I can play PC versions of games I already bought in consoles?

No, but only recent releases typically get updates so if you play mostly older stuff this isn't an issue.

This is against Gog's terms of use, but as a practical matter they can't do much to stop you.

If you have a copy of any of The Witcher series of games you can get a Gog key for free.

Hello & welcome to the community :)

Do GOG games update automatically?

If you wish to. Default yes; you can change that in the galaxy options for each game individually. You need the optional Galaxy client for that feature.

Can I share copies with my friends so we can play online?

Technically both yes since you can get offline backup-installers for all games. But, especially the 2nd question of these 2, you are entering copyright infringement so while you can you should encourage your friend to buy his own copy or gift one to him. While possible the "one game per user per account" rule applies here too.

Is there a way to add games got somewhere else to my library?

AFAIK no

...whats Steam?

kidding, but no idea; don't use Steam. There is the connect feature that can get you occasionally some staff hand-picked games which you have on steam also on gog. Never tried to connect my xb-live account to galaxy or even tought of it but I do not think such a thing is possible (at least for now).

My copy of The Witcher is a PS4 disc. ¿is there a way to use it to get a free PC key?

You bought a console version. That cannot be converted to a PC version. If you want PC games you should either buy the PC version to begin with OR buy the Xbox One versions that say they'll be part of the Play Anywhere program.

He's talking about this: https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup
Right now, only The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings are redeemable, and only the Windows & Mac versions. I would imagine the PC version(s) of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will be added to the program eventually...but that still won't do people who only own a console version any good.

In addition to that, there's also the (severely limited) "Reclaim Your Games!" program (and the similar but separate offer for the old Master of Orion games), and the somewhat more useful (but sporadic and time-limited) GOG Connect program (which, at the moment, has nothing available through it).

If you mean a way to add games to your Galaxy client library -- without owning a game on GOG -- I know at least one person has come up with a workaround. I'm too lazy to hunt for it in the forum at the moment, but perhaps somebody else has a link.... =)

Use this: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/nongog_game_adder_for_galaxy_download
Regarding the other question, Gog staff said some while ago it may be possible in the future but not Soon.
