Timboli: I agree, and I am pretty certain GOG needs the financial return, and so spends most of their curation time etc on games that kind of guarantee a fairly quick instant monetary return. It's a shame, but that's business for you, especially with a niche (sic) store.
MajicMan: The problem with this business model is GOG will never grow and always be a "niche" store. GOG has lost so much business from me it is comical. Gamers - people who actually play games across the spectrum of genres will never join GOG. Not because they wouldn't want to, but because they don't want to split their library. They would buy The Witcher here and Horizon Zero Dawn, but choose not to because they can't also add Hatred, RHEM, PuzzleQuest, Ace Tennis Pro Simulator, Ikaruga, Mercenary Kings, Fire Pro Wrestling World, etc., etc., etc.
GOG: We sell games - But not:
Sports games
Racing games
Shoot-em up (Shmup) games
Run-and-gun games
Action games
Platformer games that aren't Metroidvanias or Rogue-likes
Arcade-style games
Puzzle games
Games that "Many Gamers" - who will never buy the game - have "feels" over.
Now, I don't know the exact criteria they use to select or promote the releases but as an outsider -but frequent loyal customer- I understand that there is a preference towards specific genres. No, I am not complaining here. But, for example, whenever I receive the usual newsletter discount, it is 99% about genres that I don't care about. Usually a RPG or strategy game. I guess these games sell the most, and probably even drive the "curation" process. But that doesn't mean the rest of genres should he treated as a minority.
RHEM is a series that belongs here and while it might not sell like e.g. Batman, it will make a lot of users happy.
Please show your support and vote for these games in the wishlist if you want them here.
I will keep bumping this topic for some time in case fans of the genre haven't seen it yet.
