If I were you, I would read over a couple of full games, and pronto. It's very tough to have a cold start in this game if you haven't followed along in real-time before. Any of the last 3-4 games should be OK to give you a good idea.
I'm gonna live dangerously and not read the threads (well, maybe not). I"m in the mood to plunge right in and get my feet wet!! So long as I don't wind up voting for myself, I'll consider any outcome a win.
You won't really learn much if you get yourself mod-killed on the first day ;)
Whatever happens, have some fun with it.
Just for that, I promise to not lynch you. On the first day anyways. : P
