Depends if you view it as Visual Basic, excel VBA or C#, C++, java etc

RayRay13000: Sometimes I repurchase games here that I liked on Steam (Crimzon Clover, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, etc.) to get a DRM-Free version, but that's just me.
During GOG Pinata sale Amnesia: The Dark Descent was free on Steam on release of SOMA.
On same day I got Amnesia: The Dark Descent in one of pinatas and decided to keep it instead of asking refund.

On topic, when I was blessed with more money than I currently am blessed with, I used to do this a lot. Not so much now, but I still do it with games that I really, really like.

Devspar: Question in the title. Because I've been quite peeved because a game I liked got discounted on Steam for 85%, so I bought it on Steam first. And then 3 months later it got out on GOG for the same price. If I've known they would be out on GOG, I would've ditched Steam version. If only I could see the future.
Likes others said, its depend how much you like those games and support the developer.

To me, most of my GOG's games are duplicate from my Steam games and to be honest I rarely bought game at a full price if they has both platform. I get them mostly from bundle (steam) or promo (GOG) least that's what I can do to collecting the game also supporting the developer.
Probably next time you could ask the developer whether they're planning to release their game on GOG in near future or not.

I had a few cases of owning a game on Steam, but later buying it on GOG as well. My reasons were that I lived those games and I love GOG. But there also was one particular case... I got interested in a game Deadly Premonition. It so happened that there was a big discount on Steam, so I bought it there. However, game was crashing like hell, I couldn't even start it. Then and only then I found out that GOG has it as well. Waited a bit, a discount appeared. Bought the game on GOG. Had not a single problem. Downloaded, installed, had fun.

Now my view is "If GOG has it, I will get the game on GOG".

Some time ago one of my company project use a PLC that claimed to support C++ and visual basic, and we try using C++ first. however when I try to manipulate it using C++, we find that some function does not work and have bugs.

We then test it using visual basic and it work fine. We said screw it and proceed to use visual basic. many features of VB is different with C++ , and picked up the habit of using = in a if else statement. Yes VB use = not ==

I would say that it is completely up to you.
only if you really want that game here or you really want to support that developer.

I generally do not get things here that I already have at Steam.
It depends on your gaming philosophy, buy GOG version if you want:

-- DRM-free, client-less, offline version of your games
-- to support developers of your favorite games

Noone can do that. What I would do: Support GOG by waiting a bit and then if within 3 months or so the game is still not available (at similar price) on GOG, buy it on Steam, but buy it only once either on Steam or on GOG unless you really are in a spending mood.

If you do there will be trouble, if you don't it will be double.
I personally bought games like KOTOR, KOTOR2, Thief series, Tomb raider series and witcher games both on Steam and GOG. I have no idea why really. I just cant resist when they are on sale.
It depends on price and what it comes with. Also, the main advantage of buying it from GOG is that it is DRM-free and you can download it and install it on another machine if your old machine, let's say, dies. There is no client involved so it would make things more convenient in the long run in my opinion.
