Well, according to this, your laptop has a better video card than mine does. In that case, you should have no trouble running Hollow Knight. Great game (metroidvania with Dark Souls elements). I'd also recommend Gris, if you like more peaceful and less challenging games.

Breja: Well, maybe you're just better at Heroes 3 than me :D That's not hard to imagine.

Still, I was mostly talking about single scenarios, not campaigns. To be honest, I never really liked the campaigns in 3 all that much or cared much for the story. Also the campaigns would force me to deal with scenarios I absolutely hate, like ones with a time limit.

I mostly played single scenarios, those are the ones I best remember, and in those, at least on the big maps (and I like those the best, for all the exploration), it would sometimes be impossible or close to impossible to hold on to what I conquered without something like Town Portal or at least Dimension Door. At least for me :P
Nah |-)
^ Ok that's a typo but I'm gonna leave it because it looks like Geordi La Forge smiling :)

You know what, I think it's probably because you played scenarios mostly, which I'll bet is on average way more difficult than the campaign scenarios. Or at least the campaign scenarios I finished. There are few from the 2nd expansion I tried that just left me scratching my head as to how the hell one was supposed to get anywhere.

But yeah, I can totally see a big scenario level being neigh unbeatable against strong AI unless you get Town Portal early enough. Here at least the campaign scenarios are easier, because you can more or less guarantee that your main heroes have those spells by the end of the first or second level.
And though I have to caution that I don't really trust my memory all that much on such technicalities, I can't really remember time limits being a big thing. In fact I can only vaguely remember one, or possibly 2 levels with turn limits.
All of this games are great of it's kind, some with flaws
Hard West There is no overwatch, it has a little different mechanics then other games of this kind.
Sword of the Stars: The Pit Great game but developer choose bad dlc politic. Crafting is most important and patches makes basic game harder to make you buy dlc with more useful recipes.
All Civilization series. I prefer Sid Meier's Civilization IV
All King's Bounty series

For turn-based strategic games, I recommend
Xenonauts - https://www.gog.com/game/xenonauts
Panzer Corps - https://www.gog.com/game/panzer_corps

Both can be run on very very low spec computer.
dead space and hitman blood money.
Factorio - a game about building and creating automated factories to produce items of increasing complexity, within an infinite 2D world. Use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into ingenious structures, and finally protect it from the creatures who don't really like you. (the description doesnt say enough because this game is amazing)

They Are Billions

Sonic Mania Plus (super low spec)

Rimworld

====
little higher spec but still low and might work
Skyrim

Dark Souls

These games aren't what you asked for but they are really, really good!

SteamWorld Dig1 (installed ~100 MB), SteamWorld Dig 2 (installed ~250 MB), SteamWorld Heist (installed ~300 MB) delightful graphics, great controls, very addictive mechanics, and runs very well in potato computers!

It's a Win-win!!!
