Fun right off the bat!

<span class="bold">Yooka-Laylee</span>, the delightful action/platformer starring a chatty bat and a cute chameleon, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy achievements.

The world's literature is in need of some good old-fashioned saving and there are only two creatures that can pull this off: Yooka (the loveable lizard thing) and Laylee (the talkative bat)! In their grand adventure, the duo will cross paths with a cast of oddball characters, including an evil-looking duck, an entrepreneurial snake in trousers, and a certain Knight that everybody digs.

Designed as a spiritual successor to beloved platformers of yore like the Donkey Kong Country games and Banjo-Kazooie, and developed by a team consisting of several alumni of these classics, Yooka-Laylee carries many of their signature sensibilities and offbeat humor. You will explore vast and beautiful worlds, combine the duo's unique powers, and overcome imaginative puzzles and platforming challenges, trying to stop Capital B's malevolent plans. Scooping up the crazy collectibles scattered all over the place might be a good start in that direction.

Hop on with <span class="bold">Yooka-Laylee</span> and prepare to spread colorful mischief across more than five worlds full of platforming goodness, DRM-free on GOG.com. Or crank the cuteness factor up to eleven with the <span class="bold">Deluxe Edition</span>, which includes the soundtrack and a wonderful artbook.

Okay, while I really like the look of this game, I'm expected to pay for the digital deluxe edition upgrade to get access to the game's manual ! ! ! ! Since when are manuals classified as paid DLC ???? WTF ! ! ! ! So, wishlisted for now and hoping that the devs will see sense and include the digital manual with the base game.

Glad to see the game released! Is anyone able to access the deluxe edition content? It's not showing up in the game's tab...

Nevermind! It just appeared ;)

What's the deal with the Toybox extra that GOG was offering? Was it a preorder bonus only? I ask because I backed Yooka-Laylee and I'm just realizing I've lost out on multiple fronts. Even though I chose GOG as my digital destination, I was given a Steam code for the Toybox. I'm hoping there's some way I can get it here. Although I paid enough to qualify for the deluxe edition, they're only offering downloads on my backerkit rather than giving me a GOG code, so I'll have to pay extra to get the content here. As a GOG completist, I'm quite perturbed. Finally, the GOG code they gave me for the base game shows that it's a valid code but won't let me redeem the game. It says "0 OF 1 ITEMS SELECTED" with no way to select anything. I've tried on three other browsers to no avail.

If I'm reading it correctly, I don't think that that's a game manual but an art book with some added character info and game tips - non-essential. Someone who owns it might be able to confirm or deny that.

There's a 24-hour Gleam.io giveaway of 10 copies of <i>Yooka-Laylee</i> that GOG is promoting via social media. If anyone's interested. ;)

Thanks, I don't do social media so I wasn't aware.

I bought the game a minute ago and I have the toybox. (Then again, the product page is still named "preorder", so that might change in the future.) The item added to my library is the full game with no preorder countdowns or anything; the toybox is a goodie in a separate section (see attachment).

I stopped whining long ago but... manual as dlc?

Tell that to the 450 page DOMINIONS IV manual.

Completely free. Hear me, YL devs? Free as in beer!!
I was finally able to redeem the backer key. Alas, no Toybox DLC. :(

Edit: It looks like the preorder link is still up.

I'm so OCD about my GOG collection that I'm actually considering buying it again just for the Toybox DLC, but since I've already redeemed the backer key, I'm not sure how that would work. Can any GOG blues hook me up so I don't have to drop an additional 40 bucks?
