Deep down and dirty.

UnderRail an underground turn-based survival RPG, is now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

You shift from leg to leg inside a tattered blanket-coat, struggling to shield yourself from the damp, cold air of the tunnels. The distant ruckus of looters, maliciously picking apart a homeless man's shelter, whispers words of hesitation into your ear. But that girl needed her medicine and, dammit, even if our entire race is nearly extinct, what we stand for must endure. You clench that makeshift shotgun in your radio-blistered hand and march straight ahead.

Do you miss the complex role-playing mechanics and challenging combat of the original Fallouts? UnderRail's got you covered… under tons upon tons of concrete, where life is still somewhat tolerable. Brave the horrors of an unforgiving world and venture through the underground complex of metro stations that the survivors now call home. Craft your own equipment, master turn-based combat and navigate the politics of opposing factions vying for power over those last remaining scraps of civilization.

Do whatever's necessary to survive and explore every dark corner of the UnderRail, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Grab your ticket with the 10% launch discount that will last until January 1st, 1:59 PM GMT.

This is a wasted opportunity to release a Star Wars game. Hope Shadows of the Empire is released soon. May the Force be with you all.

Can people please STFU about Star Wars?
checkout....aaaand there goes my weekend pizza money...$13 feels like a bargain though if I'm frank.

Fantastic music by the way.

I'm concerned people will take the 'like Fallout' reference to exaggeration, thinking it will be exactly like Fallout.

This post is wasted opportunity to say something edgy/clever/smart.
Yay, turn-based goodness, price seems reasonable.
OMFG! Why have I never heard about this?
It looks like a true Fallout 3!

Dammit, and I can't buy it for christmas for myself, because I swore to myself to not support regional pricing in any way, grargh!
*bites in his hat*
I didn't want to buy games without Linux port anymore either, which is usually not a big problem since most games don't support my WinXP anymore.
I'm so tempted to break one of my rules right now, but both?

Do want so much...

Edit: I was confused, it's $1,50 off, not $1,50 store credit.

Pity. Text is tiny, can't read. Can you increase the font size?

I don't have it yet, but the system requirements strongly imply that the screen resolution is adjustable to some extent, so... lowering your resolution might increase the displayed size of the text.
Does somebody have infos about the difficulty of the game?

Lol, the $1,50 are a discount instead of store credit as it seems.
Weird, I've never seen/noticed something 10% off.

No regional pricing then besides the usual pro-Russian discount as it seems, hmm.

I was at underrail.com right now because of Linux, doesn't look good in this regard though:

Stupid .NET framework.

If anyone could check if it really runs good in WinXP, I'd be much obliged, official support sometimes isn't enough as I had to experience with Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms.

jcosmocohen: Is anyone else having trouble installing? Downloaded no problem, but seems to be stuck installing.
installed normally... no issues
win7 64bits 8 gb ram

i do notice that core0 is running at 60 degrees celcius when the game is in view (that is when its not tabbed to desktop)
constantly core 2,3,4 are at 545 degrees, fans are running at max, always, and i cant icnrease the fans its at max already

but i guess i can 'blame' that on being a xna frame game engine, my experience is sthat engines like unity and now xna, like to heaten things up.

anyway as long as its below a constant of 70 degrees celsius i should be (relatively) safe

okay i checked all screens and the fonts are the same as in the alpha i played, not very relaxing for the eyes at 1024x768 (cant go higher).

As for the rest i assume it be the same like alpha demo but a finsihed version with more in it.
I cant really say its been heavilly optimised for performance when i compare it with the alpha demo.

From what little I played during the beta, it doesn't hold your hand (but offers enough info in dialogues) and you'll probably die a lot in the beginning if you don't know when to throw in the towel (i.e. run from a fight with tough opponents).

That said, it's not difficult to play if you know how to build your character properly and play to its strengths.

To my knowledge you can't unless you play at a lower res.
