redrain85: Indeed, that's precisely why I did it. Should result in high quality printouts for those who wish to print the manual.

However, I can easily create a smaller version for download if everyone wants that. :)

EDIT: And, in fact, I just did. Edited my earlier post to include a link to smaller versions of the manual and reference card.

What other extras are you working on? Soundtrack? Wallpapers? Avatars?
avatar
redrain85: Soundtrack, wallpapers, concept art, videos.
Very nice. :)

redrain85: Much like Disney recently did with Star Wars: Rogue One. Cherry-picking what they liked from the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight games from LucasArts, as well. Thereby rendering the games null and void in the process . . .
It's worse with Star Wars. The only canon Star Wars game at the moment is Battlefront which came out after The Force Awakens. How does GOG or another publisher try to get us buying old Lucasarts games when they aren't canon any more? It's ridiculous but in my mind Dark Forces did happen. In fact any change made by Disney isn't canon to me.

And here's the full TRON 2.0 soundtrack in MP3 form:

Please note! The track titles contain SPOILERS. So if you haven't played or finished the game yet, you'll want to hold off opening the .zip.

For the rest of the extras: I'll submit them to GOG, and wait to see if they're approved and included as goodies for download with the game. If not, I'll make them available for download separately, later. (I don't know what or how much GOG has sourced from Disney. Maybe they'll be able to acquire even better quality materials.)

In the case of the videos, they're going to be a selection of the ones already on the LDSO YouTube channel in this playlist.

Nice to have this one back in my gaming library.

Back in the day I used to play online matches against DiscBot, Inode and Nicole, ah, those were the days.

Back in the day I played the original Tron. :P
Hey, Redrain85, I know you don't have any set ETA on Killer app v1.2, but do you have a general idea of when it will release?

Everything you've posted online says 2014, but it's been 2 years since then.

I'm careful about giving out any specific ETA now.

I did post other ETA updates beyond 2014, but all the previously mentioned ETAs were always based on optimistic predictions, regarding how much free time I'd have. Obviously, those predictions didn't pan out.

One thing I can promise you, is it'll be released before the end of 2017. Development on it has dragged on for far too long, and I know folks are getting impatient.

Realistically, we're probably looking at a few more months. Rather than taking until the end of the year. (And once I upload the next preview trailer video to YouTube, you'll know that it's imminent. Because it'll be the final preview before release.)

The soundtrack I linked to has all the music in that YouTube playlist, plus more. It's more complete, and each track is individual rather than merged together. Each track title also describes where it occurs in the game in detail, and plays out in the same order you hear it in-game, chronologically.

I first put together this soundtrack in 2005, and posted a tutorial online to show others how they could make their own. (Because I didn't want to annoy Disney, at the time, by uploading it.) Others, however, often didn't mention that they used a certain tutorial to create their own soundtrack, and uploaded the soundtrack online anyway . . .

Thanks for the update! I appreciate all the work you've done for Tron 2.0!
So glad to see this on GOG. I never got to play it back in the day.
I am one of those eagerly waiting for version 1.2 of the Killer App mod.

I am honestly not interested in playing multiplayer games and what I look most forward to is single player game fixes.

Godspeed!

Since today is the 15th Anniversary of the release of TRON 2.0 (at the time I'm writing this), I thought I'd do something special. (It was released August 26, 2003 in North America.)

August 26, 2023 EDIT: Updated the download to include additional concept art, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the release of TRON 2.0 in North America!

The link above is a download that contains concept art, wallpapers, and videos about TRON 2.0. Some of this content probably hasn’t been seen, by the majority of TRON fans, for over a decade. (I'll also try submitting this to GOG, to see if they'll add it as a bonus "goodies" download.)

All of the videos in the download, plus more, can be found on the LDSO YouTube channel if you'd prefer not to download them.

TRON 2.0 videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2F7AF22CD55DF6A0

In addition to this newly released collection of TRON 2.0 content: LDSO has previously released the TRON 2.0 soundtrack and game manual, which can also be found if you visit the posts linked below.

TRON 2.0 Manual and Reference card (in English): https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_tron_20_4769a/post103
TRON 2.0 Soundtrack: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_tron_20_4769a/post108

Thanks to Disney, Monolith Productions, Steven Lisberger (who went uncredited for his contributions), Richard Taylor and Syd Mead (who contributed to the game as well), and everyone who worked on TRON 2.0.

Thank you for creating such a memorable, and fun, game. That perfectly captured the aesthetic, humor, and imaginative storytelling of the original TRON. It absolutely had many fans excited and spellbound at release, as the first follow-up to the original film in decades.

Work on Killer App Mod v1.2 also continues, and I recently uploaded a couple of new video trailers featuring Single Player game fixes, if you care to check them out.

Single Player Fixes 1/4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eor2DXBXQRQ
Single Player Fixes 2/4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVakVVLDTC8
Single Player Fixes 3/4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN--qoM3LXs
Single Player Fixes 4/4: To be added (pending completion)
