Towerfall: Ascension on twitch.tv/GOG.com
Three of our GOG.com crew (Picty, Arek, and Robo) and a guest will be playing the game live! They'll be going head to head, and apparently they're pretty darn good. This is not a PG rated show.

The stream goes live on May 12, at 4:00 PM GMT / 12:00 PM EST / 9:00 AM PST.

Is it safe to assume there is no reason to buy this for single player only gaming?

hugo360pt: Many react the same way to your regional pricing=no buy policy.
And people are free to disagree, and argument. What's yours on this?

I mean you disagree with some of what she says and here you have a dev who puts her in their game so this means they like what she does. So if she weren't there, you'd buy the game, or not? Just wondering if there's some logic or if it's just whiny trolling (sometimes they seem to look like the same, but exchanging arguments help in that matter).

Cheers,

There are a couple modes, but the main mode for this game is multi. But even if you only gather around this once a month, it's worth having. Anything more and it's bonus.

At worst, the base game is under 5€... not risking much I'd say.

But short story, no it's not a single player game.

I knew of this release, I already got it on steam sometime ago and was saving my money to buy it by the end of the year... But with this discount, not sure I can live much longer without these in my GOG library! It's just the kind of game that feels that was born to be in a comfy drm-free installer always ready for offline multi-player. Matt, I will always adore you for posting these on GOG!
Nice to see this here. I have it on PS4 and will get the expansion there also. Later I might get it PC though at a big discount.

Yeah, not much to the single player(atleast in Ascension). Might be worth it at a bigger discount.
○All-new 4-player co-op mode with unique boss battles, also playable solo.

Sounds like the expansion adds some single-player goodness, will buy and support since it's heavily discounted.

micktiegs_8: Yes, an explanation....

hugo360pt: It's probably because of this. I know that's the reason why I will not buy this game.
It's a win-win situation. If you like her it's cool she has a character in this game. If you don't her character makes excellent target practice :)

I'm actually surprised she's okay being in a game where her avatar can be the victim of piquerism :p

[EDIT] Probably won't get this one because it seems too multiplayer focused for me. Seems interesting otherwise.

Being what looks like a platformer jumper type of thing which is a genre that usually doesn't win with me (I'm crap at them) I kind of discounted this. But I just heard some of the soundtrack by Alec Holowka and so far I like the soundtrack quite a bit

So even if the game doesn't win you over the soundtrack might.
I've been interested in this game for a while, but I'm a misanthrope and an introvert, who's almost always interested solely in a game's single player mode. So how good is Towerfall and its expansion as a single-player game?
