CDPR wants to create stand-alone version of Gwent from W3, "printed" CCG minigame. How to monetize it?

1) one time payment only (all cards unlock)
+ simplicity
+ fairness
- can't support game in the long term (necessity by nature of CCG)

- it is NOT collectible

2) one time payment with DLC/Expansions (DLC/E unlock new set of cards)

- fee 2 pay game (term by Jim Sterling) or even pay 2 win

- potentially pay 2 win

4) F2P model with card packs
+ Hertstone model therefor functional
+ lots of players

+ classical CCG model of acquiring new cards
+ very easy way how to add new cards

- bad reputation (kind of)

CCG kind of force developer to F2P model. High numbers of players and ability to easily add new cards are essencial for every CCG.

Discussions about high level ideas of GOG in this topic are ... well ... interesting, but CDP has history of following trends but doing them right (open world, DLC, season pass, Galaxy). They are not spear head of DRM revolution and never realy were. They "just" don't throw away respect for customers and games for profit. The fact, that this is so big deal is part of much bigger topic.

i cant purchase this the game frezes like its loading the payment through the the game but it doesnt buy it no matter how much i wait. I serched for this on gog store and i cant find it. I have already put the funds to my wallet it ll be a waste if i cant buy this and if this is not fixed soon i wont be buying anything for these games ever again

Then you should have read the post, it was a limited one time offer that is long gone. You can try at support to get your money back.

Then why they still advertise it in the game, "Starter pack available now" (false advertising, selling something that doesn't exist anymore :D)? They even send a golden message about it! Kind of a ripoff. You can still buy something else, some cool indie game.

Better off asking the owners of the game cdpr. All I point out is the text in the post above which states limited one time offer. Hardly worth debating really, it's already broke most of the gog specific rules by being online only, so it's not like they give a feck about customers, me I don't go near it so know nothing about "golden messages" or any other type of con-wares.

Then why is it still featured in the game? Why dont they just remove it ffs some people are actually new at this and i thought it was still a good idea. And in the gog addons it said AVAILABLE NOW! So i thought i had to put funds to my wallet to purchase the pack through the game. Not 100% my fault

I AGREE. I don't even recognize Gwent anymore, WAY to many changes this company is starting on a slippery slope IMHO. I have been a fan since the EARLY days of CDPR now it's time to part ways methinkls, adieu.
