Bigs: My bad then - the last one I see in my game's changelog is 1.120 from last year... guess the gamecard isn't kept up to date
avatar
ariaspi: Yeah, that's another GOG's problem - missing changelogs. Always check the installer's version, not the changelongs.
Hard to do from work :P
low rated

fronzelneekburm: 46% on Steam... is it really THAT bad?
Are we second class customers again ?

ariaspi: What other games? Only Punch Club wasn't updated, but Graveyard Keeper was kept up to date pretty regularly, from what I've seen, and according to gogdb, every time it was updated within a day, compared with steam. We'll see how well Swag and Sorcery will fare with the updates on GOG.

What has a bad rating on Steam to do with being second class customers here?
avatar
Bigs: Hmm it IS missing the 1.121 - 1.123 (current) patches that are on Steam... ><
avatar
omega64: Is it? GOGDB shows them as being on GOG.
I usually check the changelog in the forum, not gogdb. There it shows the last update being in December. But I guess those are just maintained by forum members so it's easy to miss something.

Hmmm . I though it was about the discount .

Sorry .
The version on GOG is 1.023 from May 12th, but the latest on Steam is 1.029 from May 20th. It looks like there are updates daily but GOG is quite a bit behind.
Is this game not being updated on GOG anymore?

If you read the rest of this thread you'll see that this developer has a reputation.

Having read/watched quite a few reviews, I think it's two things:

1) People unfamiliar with the genre who are unhappily surprised by how the genre actually works and should've either stayed away or only played a freebie sampler.

I tend to enjoy the genre, but its appeal is not broad-based.

2) People familiar with the genre who think it doesn't measure up to the competition (Dragon Cliff, Recettear, Holy Potatoes Weapon Shop, Weapon Shop Fantasy), esp. given that it comes with a higher price tag than most of them.

In this case, I think the nicer graphics actually are a bit of a hindrance, in that it's going to be a shiny that draws buyers who may shy away from uglier but better developed competitors.

Still, despite the reviews I'll probably buy it someday when it's 60-75% off or bundled.
