In the press:

Stronghold Crusader II was a rare game that I got lost in. I started playing and before I knew it, it was six hours later. Who can resist a game about castle building, economy raising, and taking on large castles full of troops and hazards? Especially when you can soften up the numbers by launching diseased animals over castle walls.--Dark Station

The first thing that you'll notice when making your initial tentative steps into Stronghold Crusader II is the level of detail that's been invested into making its world as joyous to behold for the player as possible. --Game Revolution

djdarko: Looks cool, but they lost me at day 1 "optional content".

Edit: Wait, is this not a brand new game?
Release Date: September 22, 2014

Over a year old game.

wvpr: Didn't one of the Stronghold sequels get a mountain of criticism after release, like basic features were broken or omitted? Am I mixing it up with something else?
I think that was Stronghold 3. Apparently it was a broken mess at release.

But most bugs should be fixed now... So it was a good idea to wait a year for this game :-)

I see. And they still haven't fixed that game? It's been out for years now.
Is it worth the money ?

Yep its still the same state as it was released in. Steam actually removed all the notice for negative rating cause the game was rated around 30%.

yyahoo: Honestly, Firefly, what are you thinking?
Probably something along the lines of "most people wait for it to go on sale anyways, so lets just make the sale price our regular price"

Well that's a great behaviour. I guess that explains why Stronghold 3 is not on GOG....
Never heard anything good about this game and the price is just the icing on the cake. I recommend Stronghold Crusader HD, which will satisfy most of your castle-building and sieging needs. Still a good game to this day!
By the way, I have one Stronghold Crusader HD key to give away...

Ueber: No Mac or Linux version coming? :(
The developers never released one, so no.

IAmSinistar: Advanced Medieval Ant Colony Sim?

Certainly looks busy, and sounds like it could be fun. That's some serious AAA-level pricing though.
Yep seems to be the low end of what we pay for AAA games here too ($70 AUD (this is $70.39...is usually starters at places like JB Hifi. Average is around $80 AUD)
Ah yes stronghold crusader 2, gonna get this game when i get a new pc if i ever do that.Otherwise watched a little lets play of it and sergio said it's the 2nd best stronghold game, first place certainly goes to stronghold crusader 1.
