When you build upon a star...

Starbound, a sandbox action/RPG about settling down on a procedurally generated universe and exploring its infinite randomness, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com.

You are a lonely alien, cast away on an unknown planet after your ship and your spacefaring dreams got severely damaged. Now you must start anew, build yourself a home, blast any rude natives to smithereens, and perhaps gradually establish your own colony. Once you repair your trusty spaceship, a vast galaxy of opportunities will open up and your procedurally generated appetite for adventure and exploration will never let up!

Much like their crafty alien protagonist, developers Chucklefish have been building and expanding Starbound, shaping it up with the help of their community while it was still In Development. Now the release version is finally here and it includes a rich story campaign full of bizarre characters, intimidating bosses, and heaps of craftable items. All that content is available in an online drop in/drop out co-op mode, plus the modding tools give the community the power to make all sorts of crazy contributions to this near-infinite universe.

Build yourself a home on an expansive, procedurally generated universe and make the most out of being Starbound, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Woolytoes: Quote from the Devs: "While Starbound will be finished in two weeks, this isn’t the end. We will continue to update and support Starbound for as long as we can. We’ve got loads of cool ideas we couldn’t fit into 1.0 but hope to put into future updates."

I don't hate Windforge as much as a lot of other people, but it's still not a very good game. :P I'd go Starbound.
I never read that press release.. ha, "support".

Both are ass. Here's a review. Play Stardew Valley or wait for Otherworlds.

I think Starbound is easily worth the asking price if you like these types of games. Go for it!
GOG users have bizarre opinions. This is easily one of the most addictive games I've ever played and I've been playing games to excess since just after Pong.
Warning ! Story spoilers .

Tweed Vs Starbound: The Final Round.

Glad i passed this game .
We must feel for all those poor self-loathing bastards spending tens or hundreds of hours playing such a bad game. Or maybe they all have been chained to their computers and forced with a prod to play Starbound? Somebody save them!
