An iconic classic, fully remastered by the team at Nightdive Studios, through its proprietary KEX engine, allowing the game to run on modern gaming devices at up to 4K resolution at 120FPS.

STAR WARS™: Dark Forces Remaster is now out on GOG!

Expect all fourteen original levels, featuring Star Wars™ worlds and capital ships, engaging first-person ground combat featuring ten weapons and twenty types of enemies, Personal Digital Assistant (providing you with in game information such including map, inventory, and mission briefing), modern gamepad support, controller support, advanced 3D rendering, up to 4K 120FPS visuals, and much more!

The original 1995 STAR WARS™: Dark Forces raised the bar for FPS games, offering players a significant degree of movement and interactivity, a large selection of items and power-ups, and engaging environments.
In that iconic title you assume the role of Kyle Katarn, a defector of the Galactic Empire turned mercenary for hire. Katarn joins the Rebel Alliance’s covert operations division tasked with infiltrating the Galactic Empire, where he discovers the secret Dark Trooper Project. The development of this powerful new series of Imperial battle droids and power-armored stormtroopers stands to strengthen the Empire’s grip on the galaxy unless Katarn and the Rebel Alliance intervene.

With STAR WARS™: Dark Forces Remaster, every new and returning player will be able to enjoy all of that with upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, and support for gamepads.

That’s not all, though! For those who already own the classic STAR WARS™: Dark Forces – you get a -10% launch discount on the Remaster, until April 29th, 2 PM UTC!

Make sure to check it out – with Nightdive Studios behind the wheel, we couldn’t be more excited!

GOG.com: Release: STAR WARS™: Dark Forces Remaster
Why show "pre-alpha footage" in the release trailer?
I mean - for a "coming soon" game, sure...but for a game that is released?

Also: I'm gonna predict that a lot of people won't be too happy with the remastered graphics.

Nice! Thank you NightDive!

I hope they remaster Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight some day too!

The price is insane, even with the -10% launch discount !

As always, these "remasters" are a way of getting the game on various other platforms. For PC they don't do much beside give an old game a coat of new paint. But yeah, some people will like the old pixelated DOS paint :P.

At least the older game is still around, and sold separately.

There's a local proverb that says: "Madness lies with the one who pays a price, not with the one who asks it" :P.

Sadly I agree, esp after the Tomb Raider 1-3 remaster and upcoming Battlefront.

Love DF but there is no value for money there sadly.

I guess it's not quite live yet because I can't download it through Galaxy and the offline installer link gives me an 'invalid license' error message.
Edit: Fixed now.

An alternative for this remaster is to use The Force Engine to enhance the original version. TFE also adds several features like mouselook or quicksave. It also features several graphical enhancements.

NightDive's remasters are getting more expensive .

This price is nuts! The game is near 30+ years old even if it's a 'remaster.' Half the asking price would have me consider it.

This is key. I don't see much point to thes remasters (at least on the PC, like you mentioned) but as long as the originals aren't removed or bundled with the remaster, there's no harm in it. And if it gets a classic title a new lease on life on other platforms, that's not a bad thing either.

But yeah, I don't care for this. Maybe one day, if there's a massive, massive discount I could pick this up out of sheer curiosity.

Although then I'd have to play THE SEWER LEVEL again...

Yes, but I'm sure that HD sewage will make it worthwhile :P.

Nightdive seems to think that they can charge almost the same as Robocop (2023)
Blessed be.
From the screenshots i really couldn't tell that it is a FPS. I always thought it was a point and click game.

Also i'm getting really tired of this "sell remasters/remakes for a price of a new game" trend. Feels more like a quick cash grab.
