OH GOD, PLEASE LET HIS BE GOOD!
Anyone here played this before?
Any comments about it?
I LOVED space rangers 2, the hd update was a letdown however.
How does this hold up compared to those?

I second this. Love these unusual releases and this seems classy.

Did you like the text adventure portions, though? Because this game is just the text adventure quests.

Do they operate the same way here as in the previous game? If so, then I could try that one and see if I like the mechanic.

AlienMind: This seems to be a good game for Tablets. Why not make a section for Android games, or is it forbidden to sell apk if you're not google?
I know of several online stores that sell apks, including Amazon and Humble, so that isn't the trouble.

However, it would require GOG to support Android, an OS with at least as much variability and odd device interactions as Linux, but with a less knowledgeable customer base. And there doesn't seem to be much evidence of Android apps being big money spinners away from Google Play. So it would surprise me to see GOG go in that direction.

I see. Hopefully someone makes a GOGmix of all the games here also available on Mobile, because... GOG itself will not do a filter for it I assume because it helps them lose money :-)
I'm about 10 hours into the game and I feel like I'm still in the beginning of things, so it seems to be a lengthy game, which I'm happy about.

The only issue I have come across with this PC version are some text presentation issues, like the text not wrapping properly; with spaces not placed evenly.

I'm really enjoying the game though. The writing is well-made concerning the storyline and characters. Each mission I have done so far feels unique and there's a nice variety in the puzzles. The game is certainly bigger and deeper than I first imagined.

If you fail a mission (by dying for example) you can very quickly re-load the game and try it again, until you at least survive the mission. You can repeat completed missions, but the rewards decrease by doing so. Parts of the mission will actually change as well, for example your luck level might be lower than previously, which will change the outcome of events.

Finding enough money to sustain your travels will probably be the main issue for most people, as exploration and ship maintenance (star charts, fuel and armor) will continuously drain credits.

While the presentation is mobile-phone-like, the actual gameplay feels like a "proper" PC adventure game.

I am intrigued. I am playing the Zork games and those are very difficult so I'd gladly try a more modern textual adventure. I love gamebooks and reading also so being texted based in not a problem at all. I would appreciate a Linux port. And of course I second the idea of a GOG apk store, or at least Android versions of games already here given as an extra or DLC. I see why this might be hard to get but maybe GOG can manage to launch that too in the future.

Yes, they do but now you get some quality of life improvements such as the English translation has proper English (the Space Rangers games are the only games where I actually want some weird form of English, lends to the feeling that you are in the far future :D), there is space for some mathematical equations to be written down and you have an in-game calculator pop up when you are faced with a math problem.

Also, the puzzles in this game are just as mind-bending as they were in the previous Space Rangers games :)

Useful info, thanks!
