Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is now available on GOG, alongside Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution Deluxe Edition – check it out!

The nefarious pirate Risky Boots has a “groundbreaking” new plan that will leave Sequin Land spinning – by rotating the continent, she can move any town right to the coast for easy plundering/ As Shantae, turn the tectonic tables on Risky by taking control of the land itself: shift, twist, navigate, and explore by swapping between mix-and-match multilayered levels!

Now on GOG!

phaolo: WTF, the mix of huge pixels and modern overlays doesn't look great.. it feels very mobile-like.
A pity because, excluding the UI, the graphic seems quite nice (a bit too zoomed in, maybe).

(Pirate's Curse wasn't immune, but pixels were smaller at least)

MasterofFiction: If you payed attention you would have noticed that this game originally started development as a Gameboy Advance game 20 years ago, was cancelled, then picked back up and completed recently. That is why the different graphic styles. Not even close to being "mobile-like".
I read it, but that doesn't change the fact that they chose too jarring graphic styles.
Maybe one gets used to it, but I wish that at least the UI were pixelated. It's so out of place.

I'll give a damn when River City Girls is completed and the Shantae GBC rerelease come here. I remember asking about when we'd get RCG2 and being told in more words than needed that it wasn't worth their time.

Now that things are popping here, you wanna throw one bone? Let's see some commitment.

Being fair, it could be an actual GBA rom in an enulator, like many Piko Interactive releases.

Can confirm it's a GBA ROM in an emulator with hooks and overlays.

I share Phaolo's sentiment though, I'd honestly rather have just the raw ROM without the anachronistic high res UI, I like elements in my pixel art games to be of uniform resolution.

Does it run in a standalone GBA emulator, or better yet, on an actual (physical) GBA?

(Also, is there an insta-fail stealth section in this game?)

Is it actually? I noticed the physical GBA cart that was for sale for this game a little while ago, but the price tag was too much for me; and now it is sold out, regardless. If there were a way I could purchase it here for less, and slap it onto my EverDrive...
