From the creators of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, you’ve had a chance to visit the Lost Carribean and the Golden Age of Piracy in Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Now though, get ready, because Shadow Gambit: Yuki’s Wish, Shadow Gambit: Zagan’s Ritual, alongside Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew Complete Edition, are out on GOG!

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a stealth strategy game that takes place in an alternate history version of the Golden Age of Piracy. In this game, you'll navigate through the treacherous waters of the Lost Caribbean, an enigmatic island chain plagued by the Curse of Lost Souls. However, this perilous region is not only home to supernatural forces, but also falls under the oppressive rule of the dreaded Inquisition. Their relentless pursuit of all things supernatural leads them to employ soul-devouring fire in their hunt for cursed pirates like yourself.

That's just the beginning of this story, though. You can now explore the pirate universe even further – with Shadow Gambit: Yuki’s Wish and Shadow Gambit: Zagan’s Ritual DLCs! You can also get both titles, alongside the base game, in a neat package of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew Complete Edition.

Ay, ay, captain! Time for adventure!

zeffyr: The level of polish of Mimimi's games is second to none.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I disagree.

For example in Desperados 3, there is a bug where the enemy's legs clip through the woman playable character's skirt when you are dragging their bodies.

In Shadows Tactics: Blades of The Shogun, they tied full completion to the earning of incredibly aggravating "Speed Run" medals, which completely destroys the purpose of playing this style of game.

And controller users are shafted on those already-immensely-aggravating "Speed Run Medals," because the only way how any average player will ever possibly be able to complete them is by watching a youtube video of someone else doing it successfully, and with the player ALT-TABBING out of the game constantly in order to emulate the video step by step, second by second, with exact precision.

Except, doing that doesn't actually work for controllers users, because the devs designed the game so that mouse users receive cursor functionality, whereas controllers users do not.

And as a result of that difference, mouse users, via the use of the cursor, have a massive advantage as regards to how fast they can command multiple different characters to execute commands simultaneously. Mouse users literally have a function available to them - which is essential to the "Speed Run" mechanics that the devs force all players to agonizingly tp endure if they want to achieve full completion, that controllers do not have any equivalent function that can do the same thing in anywhere remotely within the same short span of time.

Meaning, controller users, for the most part, have no possible way to complete those Speed Runs. When they are emulating a youtube video of it being done, and then they see the video uploader's footage using the cursor to perform functions quickly, now it becomes literally impossible for the controller user to follow the video any more, because they simply don't have that function that is shown in the video available to them.

The devs' lame excuse for this is, "we have tested the Speed Run medals with controllers." Okay, so then, maybe eSports players can technically achieve the Speed Run Medals with controllers. But for average, normal gamers: no way that's ever going to happen, especially since there are no examples of that being done in any youtube videos. So the devs' excuse doesn't actually solve that problem at all for 99.9%+ of their customers.

The things I've just mentioned are examples of oversight in the first example (graphical clipping issues) and oversight combined with very bad design in the second example (mouse users have an advantage, and "Speed Runs for Medals" being part of the game in the first place, which they shouldn't be, yet are). Neither of those things are indicative of "polish."

Also, the official trailer for Desperados 3 completely spoils the story of the whole entire game, so that was also a horribly-designed trailer as well.
the game is great you are the worst

So much hate for something like this is just overreaction.
I understand the demons are very demanding

I really loved the "Japan in the Edo period" theme of Shadow Tactics.
And (for me, at least) the pirate theme hasn't been done to death, yet.
But, somehow...this new release doesn't really "scratch that certain itch" for me.

"MOD IT UP: FORGE YOUR OWN PIRATE TALES WITH THE NEW “MODDING TOOL”!

Create your own Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew missions with the free “Modding Tool” update and share it with the world!

Ahoy, cursed pirates!

We know, we’ve said the Shadow Gambit DLCs will be our last update. But we actually have one more thing to share with you.

Since Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, many of you have been requesting some sort of modding level editor for our games. We took a first step in that direction with the implementation of the "Level Editing Cheats" for Desperados 3.

Today, we’re thrilled to release the “Modding Tool” for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew as a free update!

We’re adding this feature to the main game with the latest patch update, which is live now.

This our very final parting gift to you.

Modding Tool Trailer
*Please note: This tool is officially supported on PC only. Be aware that bugs may appear in your modded content, which we won’t be able to fix in the future.

CREATE YOUR MISSIONS & STORIES!

Get ready to unleash your imagination. The new “Modding Tool” empowers you to create your own custom mods!

This new feature puts the creative powers in your hands, allowing you to craft your own missions and forge your own captivating stories.

Spawn characters, enemies and NPCs throughout a level. Have fun placing different objects and interactive elements to create a new dynamic landscape within the existing locations of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Set animations, establish routines for enemy guards, and even add your own dramatic flair with (non-voiced ;D) dialogues and cutscenes. Just let your creativity run wild!

There are some limitations as it’s not a fully-fledged modding editor. However, the emphasis of the “Modding Tool” lies on the thrill of adding new elements in real-time and shaping the game to align with your vision for crafting custom missions.

All in all, we hope that the “Modding Tool” will offer a really fun way for you to get creative and to keep the Shadow Gambit flame alive!

SHARING IS CARING!

Of course, the “Modding Tool” wouldn’t be complete without the ability to share your masterpieces with friends and fellow players.

To facilitate this, we’ve added a very handy “Export” feature. This allows you to elegantly export your creations to a designated “Mods” folder on your PC.

You can then easily upload your mod to the dedicated and official Shadow Gambit modding space on Mod.io: https://mod.io/g/shadow-gambit

Also, don’t forget to join our Discord server where you can discuss mods with fellow modders: https://discord.gg/mimimi

HOW TO MOD

Ok, so you’re ready and want to start modding. But how?

Don’t worry, we got you covered: In the Shadow Gambit Mod.io space you’ll also discover a comprehensive guide series, providing instructions and tips on getting started with the “Modding Tool” and exploring its full potential.

Furthermore, we have created a short tutorial video that explains some of the basics. It is an excellent starting point for getting started with the “Modding Tool”

Modding Tool - Building A Mission Step by Step

We have also uploaded a few mod examples to the Mod.io Shadow Gambit space so that you can get a first impression of what is possible with the modding tool.

We really hope you’ll enjoy this new feature and we can’t wait to see what you will come up with.

Let your modding adventures set sail in the vast seas of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew.

Glad that they went with a platform-agnostic solution (mod.io) for this.
