Little maverick.

Samorost2, a simple experimental adventure game from Amanita Design, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 33% launch discount.

Samorost2 is super weird. It's weird all around. The premise is weird - you're a gnome-like creature living on a tiny tree planet. Two mysterious, angry looking aliens land near your house and capture your dog, there's little you can do but lift off in your bottle rocket and get him back. The graphics are weird - the universe is a surreal collage of pastel colored textures and photography. The music is so weird, its award winning. Samorost2 is not a complex experience, it features no inventory or dialogue instead opting for a serene set of scenes to be solved and manipulated. Half game, half art, all greatness.

The GOG.com release of Samorost2 comes with a free copy of the Original Soundtrack bonus goodie, and it's one worth listening to.

A surreal adventure awaits in Samorost2, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The 33% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, July 14, at 10:59 AM GMT.

Sorry Amanita guys but.... No in fact, I'm not sorry at all because I still haven't forgiven you for the Botanicula "humble bundle" stunt from 3 years ago as it was one of the few pre-orders I ever made so FUCK YOU!
Thanks for reminding me this cute game by Amanita. I think I'll replay Samorost 1 again:)

Vythonaut: Very nice game, if you're unsure go to http://amanita-design.net/samorost-2/ for a demo of the first chapter. ;-)
+1

That should actually be written and linked to on the gamepage!

Botanicula came up as pre-order on GOG around begin April 2012, bought it for 9$ (still got the receipt). In fact, if my memory serves me well, it was even one of the first pre-order on GOG.... Fast forward to release date , 19 April 2012, game gets released on GOG but then a few hours later came up the "Humble Botanicula Debut" where the game was in PWYW along with other games from the studio..... GOG had to provide some free Witcher keys to somehow calm down the customers here.

Yea, I remember that as well. It was... hmmm.... low, shall we say? I could almost hear TeT's frustration through his post. :)

As humans though we err and we grow on our mistakes, so maybe they did. Who knows?

That doesn't worry me, they'll never find the correct pixel.

But seriously, gog, space out the genres a little!
And here it is, less than a week after I finally gave in and bought in on HB. Still, I'd much rather have it here, and am glad it includes the soundtrack, so all is good. Now if it just bundled the first game in as well. (I know the first is a browser game, but I've seen a couple sites where folks managed to package it up.)
Cute little adventure, nice to see it on GOG. :)
