We all know and love this classic; Rise of the Triad: Dark War, a timeless FPS, first released in 1994 and fully revamped in 2013…

…and you thought it’s the end of this game’s road? Not at all!

Better get ready, because Rise of the Triad comes back yet again, in one of a kind Ludicrous Edition, now available on GOG with a -20% launch discount until August 7th, 5 PM UTC!

We all know Rise of the Triad: Dark War for its impeccable sci-fi action. In the gripping narrative of the game, you, the player, become a member of the esteemed HUNT (High-risk United Nations Taskforce), a group of elite operatives. Your mission is to put to a halt deranged cult leader's sinister plot, as it could result in the deaths of countless innocent people. As you scout a secluded island, a perilous situation unfolds as enemy troops surround you, their guns blazing with intensity; and devastatingly, your escape route – the boat – lies in ruins, leaving you trapped. Yet, hope glimmers on the horizon, as a massive fortress monastery stands before you, offering the only chance to put an end to this madness and save humanity.

This adrenaline-fueled, high-stakes adventure now makes an incredible return, in a Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition. With this version, you’ll receive five playable characters, weapons, level editor, various multiplayer modes, all the perks that come with modern hardware, a brand new episode, and even more!

*looks at Bladerunner: Vasoline Edition* Weeeeell...
Gog, price seems a bit (as Bubbles say) f**ky in my region compared to some other non-drm-free folks out there.
Any notice on this? Thanks a bunch.

ps: same goes for the atari 50th anniversary but the price on that one goes through the roof!! ;P
Does the cow still have milk ?
I only ever played the shareware version of ROTT, but it's always been a personal favorite of mine. Never bothered playing the initial GOG release because of how janky games feel in DosBox... but this? This is finally what I've been waiting for.

New episode sounds great, but honestly, I can't wait to actually just play the full version of the main game.
Maybe Night Dive Studios can remaster/update some old strategy games?
Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds and Wargames 1998 could use modern update. Wouldn't mind seeing Force 21 ( The first Endwar) on GOG

I think they basically admitted they shouldn't have taken on that project because of the assets that were available. Not that they gave the money back of course.
The track used in the trailer (Going down the fast way) is one of the first themes that comes to mind when I think of music from the DOS gaming era. I can't really remember any other tune from this game, but this one is brilliant.

Agreed. That piece is legendary.. even if I haven't played ROTT much at all.
