Shooting like a hurricane.

UPDATE: Yeee-haw, all weapon systems are back online! The game now supports Leaderboards and GOG Galaxy Achievements, to help you show off those mad screen-clearing skills.

Raiden V: Director's Cut, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The latest entry in the celebrated series that's been sending us straight to bullet hell for over two decades is here, more explosive than ever. Featuring voice acting for the first time, plus both a Story and a Boss Mission Mode, it will have you wreaking havoc with one of three distinct ships, each sporting different statistics, and sub-weapons.
That seems quite expensive indeed but if it's good, fans already are playing it.
It's a bit too expensive for now... and I only played so little of the fourth installment. T_T

Foxhack: This is the first time I've seen the Fair Price Package thing on any game on the site. I get a whopping 0.25 off any future purchase!

Well, at least DotEmu didn't have a hand in this...
It's bizarre that there's regional pricing to make sure we pay more than the base price.

Regional pricing should at least be coherent. it makes sense that a region where people are poorer and need a lower price to buy game A are also poorer when it comes to game B.

Yet shit like this exists. Check the base and mexican prices in the list. I tailored it to your country.

It's hilarious*.

low rated
Is it too early to point out gog jumping on the bandwagon of ripping muppets off £20 or more for effectively something you could get better on mame?
$35 AUD.. to put it into perspective an AAA rated game here is $80 AUD and up. Budget games around $20 AUD. So cant really complain...having said that i aint buying it.Yet.
Wishlisted for now.

mistermumbles: I never got nor will I ever get the appeal of bullet hell shmups. I'll take the likes of Tyrian, Raptor, Stargunner, R-Type, Gradius, Pulstar, etc. over that any day of the week.
The original Raiden 1 was like that, classic shmup. Second was still far from "bullet hell", but getting more tense, don't know about others, didn't play them so much.

On contrary, I tried DoDonPachi during weekend, on big LCD, and I don't even see whole area any more, I caught myself just moving the joystick in patterns I learned in raiden/etc blindly without actually truly reacting to the bullets around. Funnily enough it mostly worked (that's the nature of bullet hells, as long as you move somewhat close to the pixel gap, it may forgive you). Getting old for these action games :/ .... (40+).

I am the same. I've played and enjoyed Tyrian and Raptor but not Pulstar. Do you recommend it? Any other suggestions?

Pulstar ain't shabby. It's got that R-Type kinda vibe. If you haven't played it yet I heartily recommend Stargunner. Lots of customization options. ;)

GOG.com: NOTE: Due to technical reasons, online features in Raiden V will be available soon.
By "online features" you wouldn't happen to mean saving the LOCAL score would you? Like what happened with Clustertruck and Nex Machina? Sorry did I say "happened", what I meant was they're still broken, even now.

Thank you!!!

I don't think I ever played Stargunner, I think I was turned off by the graphics. (I much prefer pre-1995 graphics, the 1996 to late 90s doesn't work for me) I shall give it a go.

The main reasons I don't switch regions on Steam are Capcom and Bethesda. Motherfuckers think we Mexicans are made of silver or something (we're not, all of that is in European museums.)
