Powers in the Basement is a 5-6 hours long point & click adventure game, deliberately reminiscent of the great classics from the 80s and 90s, with a specific sweet spot for LucasArts production.

And the best thing is, you can now grab it for free in our store! Moreover, if you’d like to support the team behind the game, you can grab its Extended Soundtrack.

In Powers in the Basement the main protagonist is Will Phail – a fifteen-year-old like many others: lazy, spoiled, and phlegmatic. But he has one thing that others lack: he's useless!

Experience Will's drama as he searches for his favorite T-shirt so he can hang out with his friends trying to defend his already compromised reputation. Dodge lazy grandparents, mischievous rats, and carnivorous plants, and find the courage to descend into the frightening basement, where powers beyond understanding lurk, waiting to be awakened!

Check out this nostalgic love letter to the genre’s classics and bring back your childhood for a while.
Thanks!

Ice_Mage: Looks good. Thank you.

Tarhiel: BTW, it wrongly shows while buying that you have unsupported version if windows

Ice_Mage: The problem seems to be the soundtrack DLC, which is labeled, Works on: Windows () without the versions specified in between the parentheses.
I see, thanks for an explanation - blue people, please, fix this :)
Thanks, a lot :)

Such a nice game!

Got both game and soundtrack on fireflowergames already (same deal), but it's nice to see it here too.
Speaking of plants, when will Neverhood land here? The buggy "sequel" is sold here but the free classic isn't available.
I always appreciate a free game, thank you for this and Mordheim!

That said, the GOG store page for Powers in the Basement clearly states that it has achievements but when I added the game to my library, it says they're N/A. The store page even shows the most unlocked ones. Does anyone know why that is? I've logged in and out of Galaxy multiple times but no dice.

Hello!
The cheevos are in "Development" mode and you can only see the ones you have unlocked.

Please anyone ask developer to switch to "Production" mode.

It is done! Thank you!
I finished it. It's a short but pretty good homage to point-and-click LucasArts games. It's worth a play if anyone is interested.

Hey, I learned something new today. I loaded up the game earlier and noticed the achievements were working. Thought I would check here first and glad to see someone got in touch. Thanks to whoever reached out and the devs.
