Shiver me pixels, matey!

Pixel Piracy, a 2D open-world piracy game that lets you build and customize a ship, recruit crew, and go after pieces of eight, is available 75% off for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com.

In Pixel Piracy, the player leads the life of a pirate captain. Recruit a crew, outfit and customize your ship and set sail on the open seas. There you’ll use any combination of aggression, diversion and trade to become the most infamous pirate crew of the seven seas! You can raid, pillage and plunder everything in your path, divert and lie to get what you want or trade for a quick buck. Remember to be careful though, death is everywhere and quite permanent! Adventure awaits…

If you loved the visuals of Terraria but always thought it could use some more rum and scruffy sea dogs, make sure not to miss Pixel Piracy, while it comes cheaper than a buccaneer's life on GOG.com. The -75% discount lasts for 48 hours only - set sails for the pixel seas right now!

Nesoo: Okay, having played it now, I guess it's because Re-Logic (the Devs of Terraria) were involved somehow, as their logo shows up when launching the game. They aren't listed as a Dev or Publisher on the game card, so I don't know the exact relationship (but I would guess as a publisher on other sites and/or brick and mortar stores).
Re-Logic is listed as the co-publisher of the game on Steam.

Eh, gog fixed the text, now it's "If you loved the visuals of Terraria", so that's where they were going with the terraria mention.

Terraria didn't make me go "Ow, my eyes!" when I launched it...I have yet to overcome that part of Pixel Piracy and play more than five minutes.
What?

No Braid, Thomas Was Alone, Torchlight 2, Cave Story+, etc...
but a game that is doomed to stay in alpha state forever?
Blows my mind.

Did you turn off bloom? I believe that made it a bit more bearable. :P

I did but it only helped so much.
Anyone still want to try this game ?

I was wandering around following my curiosity about this game and found an update on Steam from the producer of quadro delta (developer company behind pixel piracy).

It is on : http://steamcommunity.com/games/264140/announcements/detail/234515384345417962

important point from that post :

There will be an "Enhanced Version" of Pixel Piracy. The producer honestly admit that the game is still full of trouble (bugs, lack of contents, etc). So currently they are working on the "new version of Pixel Piracy". The previous purchaser won't need to pay again for that version. So I assume Pixel Piracy on GOG also would be updated after they launch the new version.

The details is on that post. Another point I took from the post is they are re-building the game from the ground-up, so that is why there is no update for awhile.

Well, I think someone who want to buy it should wait longer to purchase this game. Just wait for the "new version" for less trouble.

Enhanced edition coming out in 3 patches.
The first of which will be released in 3 days.
Sounds promising.

My big problem with Pixel Piracy so far is that if you get lower level minions later in the game, they can't do anything and get stuck on the ship mostly fishing... and if you big guys die, you can't re-level up your lower guys and eventually it's captain against everyone... A little annoying. Wish there was more lower level stuff to fight and level...

But we'll see and i'll give the game another chance :)
Where's the update?

Although with the spam going on currently i can understand if they aren't working on other things...

It's out on Steam, have not seen word of a GOG update yet.
