Shiver me pixels, matey!

Pixel Piracy, a 2D open-world piracy game that lets you build and customize a ship, recruit crew, and go after pieces of eight, is available 75% off for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com.

In Pixel Piracy, the player leads the life of a pirate captain. Recruit a crew, outfit and customize your ship and set sail on the open seas. There you’ll use any combination of aggression, diversion and trade to become the most infamous pirate crew of the seven seas! You can raid, pillage and plunder everything in your path, divert and lie to get what you want or trade for a quick buck. Remember to be careful though, death is everywhere and quite permanent! Adventure awaits…

If you loved the visuals of Terraria but always thought it could use some more rum and scruffy sea dogs, make sure not to miss Pixel Piracy, while it comes cheaper than a buccaneer's life on GOG.com. The -75% discount lasts for 48 hours only - set sails for the pixel seas right now!

Matruchus: Probably not in space cause of this sentence: "two new continents to the west"
I was looking at those dots at top (tab).

_ _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

But then again it appears to have less letters in the image:

Pixel R _ N O A _ I _

I remember seeing it occasionally on Steam. It never left an impression on me... other than looking like a bit of a mess. *shrug*

tinyE: I wonder if there are any wikis around. I'm actually amazed I managed to capture the damn thing to start with.
Here's the wiki. ;-)
Seriously, the blur. Am I the only one seeing that, especially when my guy gets to the edge of the screen?

Other than that I'm loving it. I decided to start my ship from scratch, problem being when I did that I was on it and promptly fell into the water and became shark chow. I bet you never saw that happen in Baldurs Gate! :P
low rated
Wish it came with a steam key, I would bite at that price.
Game looks like some Desura shovelware but a launch discout of 75% is really worth of notice.

GOG should talk more publishers into releasing their games with a discout of at least 60%. The attention and exposure a game gets here during its release is unique among digital stores - people sit here waiting for releases like manna from heaven and every game is featured on the front page with Pomp & Circumstance. They should exploit this to the max.

Yeah, that was one of the most hated updates for the game, the options for blur/bloom doesn't do much, not sure why they added that, the looked ok without it...
Somehow the visual impression is not making me want to play the game.

Bought... because for $2.49 if all I do is sit and stare at pixel pirates it somehow seems worth it.

Ophelium: I'm waffling on this one. Well, if it stinks, there are a few games on my shelf it can keep company.
:D exactly

i have some 'stinkers' aswell on the shelf

but those were mutators, and those stinkers gave me some nice games :D

And sometimes theres a bundle which has 1 or 2 'smelly' ones but if the bundle is alot cheaper when you also buy the smellie ones in it, then i go for the complete bundle ... its all a matter of doing some math.

And in the past i have also bought stinkers on retail cd so ... i guess a few 'stinkers' are needed :D
same goes for dvd movies, you have a lot of good ones and some stinkers :D
This game seems to have really mixed reviews, and the recent GOG reviews seem to be low as well. Is there a reason for this? Is this game truly finished or will it get any more updates?

Yeah, there's definitely a place for stinkers. Sometimes you just wanna watch or play something where you just don't care and can let your brain shut off for a while.
