--Reviews Roundup--

Still too scared to try Outlast 2? Here's what some well-known outlets have to say about it:

God is a Geek declare <span class="bold">that the sequel is 10 times better at scaring you to death</span>.
PC Gamer found that the game <span class="bold">"excels as a beautiful, brutal journey through extreme spiritual anxieties"</span>.
IGN calls Outlast 2 <span class="bold">"a terrifying sequel that build upon the scares of the original"</span>.
Destructoid got deeply disturbed by Outlast 2, calling it <span class="bold">"harrowing" and "a horror game that will make you want to take a shower after you're done with it"</span>.

Watch the nightmare unfold.

Very late/early release depending on how you look at it. Good release though. :)
Awesome. Terrifying game.
Looking forward to shitting my pants. :P
Have to get to work now, but I'll buy it when I get home.
This shouldn't take more than one evening, friday is going to be great! :D
Guess it's midnight in Montreal...

Would like to hear everyone's thoughts on the game. Been having my eye on this one
Not my thing as I prefer to do my parkour off my enemies' face ala Saints Row rather than away from them. Still, nice to see this here.

Indeed, and I still have work to do.
While reading the announcement I kept thinking, how could Outcast 2 be terrifying... horror game... wtf!

Oh... Lack of proper sleep is starting to affect me.
For a moment I was wondering why this was available to me in Australia (after Saint's Row 4 wasn't. Good luck getting me to spend money on the gimped version of that, by the way), until I googled and read that the initial ban of Outlast 2 in Australia had been overturned when they resubmitted it (original submission had a scene in the provided video that apparently wasn't in the final version of the game, so Australia gets the same version as the rest of the world).
Insta bought. The first game was awesome.
While the first game was enjoyable enough, it was way too scripted. Like going on a haunted house ride. Too many jump scares, which are a really cheap way of creating horror. This hurt the overall atmosphere when you know you had to trip in-level triggers for scary stuff to happen. The true masters of horror in the video game industry never relied on scripted events.

As for the second game, the reviews sound promising. It might as well be the superior title.

I agree, way too many cheap scares.
I prefer more psychological scary games.
This looks nice graphically though.

I've never played Outlast, but your statements make me wish once more that the early Silent Hill games were available here. Those games are truly terrifying (and masterpieces).
Tried a bit of the 1st game and did not enjoy it. Since this is another setting, new characters and new story; maybe I'll give it this one a try later.
