Outrunning oppression.

Mirror's Edge™, the energetic free-running action game with the striking visual design, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 50% launch discount.

The gleaming, utopian appearance of the city cannot fool Faith. She's seen how things are run around here, with everyday activity being monitored closely and sensitive pieces of information constantly changing hands high above the oblivious citizens. Now her sister is being framed for a crime she didn't commit and Faith must employ every bit of her resourcefulness and parkour talents to run the rooftops, avoid the authorities, and expose the truth.
The revolutionary first-person running mechanics and intense hand-to-hand combat make Mirror's Edge™ into a spectacular action romp, boosted by its pristine aesthetics and unmatched sense of flow. Leap, climb, race, and slide across the dangerous cityscape, always staying mindful of your surroundings and occasionally being ready to flee rather than fight, when the situation grows desperate.

Navigate Faith through high-speed chases atop the city's skyscrapers and discover what's hiding behind the Mirror's Edge™, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 50% discount will last until September 29, 12:59 PM UTC.

Tyrrhia: Meh. Even though it comes from the French "parcours," it's not really a French term as you can clearly tell by the orthography—young people love to butcher our languages, so that's why it has changed to an anglicised version.

Maighstir: Oops, sorry about that. I had French in school for about 4 years, but have forgotten just about everything as I never use it (and really wasn't enthused over it back then either).
Ha, no problem. You were kind of right; I just added some extra clarification (and a mini rant :P ).
I wonder if the sequel to this game would come on GOG too.

That would be amazing, Don't think it'll happen anytime soon though.
Good to see this one here too! Atta boy, GOG&EA!

GreatEmerald: Uh, no. This game is Unreal Engine 3. It won't get a native port without remaking the entire engine, and that's not happening.
avatar
jalister: It could be done, Dungeon Defenders is an Unreal Engine 3 game on Linux. I doubt it will though.
No, because DD was ported by the dev team having full access to the source code, and they put the effort to port the entire codebase themselves. Without all that, no chance.
Bought. instantly.

Another game released from Steam's DRM clutches. Good job, GOG.

The disc version doesn't use Steam or Origin from what I remember.

The Origin version is actually the disc version (minus the disc). It doesn't even require Origin to run.
Origin didn't exist when the game was first released.

Hmmm just saw this in the lineup for the sale, and wondered when it came on GoG. Hmmm... wow, 1 1/2 years...

Yeah, doesn't help for the last 2-3 years I've had a lot of trouble getting into games (often quitting after only 20 minutes), so when i find a game i can play for more than 40 minutes at a time i hold onto it as long as i can. One reason i haven't payed as much attention to games recently.

But there's so many other games i want to see here. Games by Atlus, Vanillaware, especially what were PS2 or Xbox only releases (like Sudeki). Other sets of games i can only hope for would be Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.

Oh well, we'll have to see...

I liked this game's absolute dedication to realistic running and jumping physics, but the combat was clunky as fuck.
