TheGrimLord: Well, my issue is that the guy complains about every game that's here unless it's one he wants. That's just stupid.
avatar
Breja: "The guy" was just having a conversation with you, in which he was I think pretty reasonable all things considered. So, you know, thanks for this very classy turn here :D

Also, it's just this week only that we got two "coming soon" announcements for games Liminal Point and Menace) that I said basically are "not for me but look really good". But hey, why let facts get in the way of throwing mud at someone? I'm used to XYCat lying through his teeth, but you, sir, just diappointed me.

Edit: Wait, no, I also had the audacity to say that Expedition 33 "looks ok but I'm not into jRPGs"! You're right, I even hate myself now.

TheGrimLord: It feels like he's doing it to mock GOG's curation or something.

Breja: We've got games about sexy kawai panzer SS and about mushroom people masturbating into people's food. Now who could ever mock curation like that? :D
To be absolutely fair those games are entirely censored and those parts are removed without the patches. Just as they would be on Steam. And remember, according to Kagura when GOG curate the adult games they only do it based on the cover artwork and description. According to Kagura's people, no one actually played the games. Which makes sense, no one had the time. And you're fair about the rest - perhaps I didn't notice. I don't really come to the forums that often. And we've now got far worse than mushrooms, because one of the last games that they signed from Kagura is especially rough. But that's also the last Kagura game they have. They've also not been getting back with Shiravune releases except for Criminal Border 4 because I requested it be added as the fourth and final part in that game. So they did manage to get that one. God knows what happened to the rest - needless to say, it doesn't look like there will be any others like that on the platform. GOG seems to be moving away a little from that content, at least in the cartoon/animated variety. The 3D model games will still come here. According to staff, those sell very well on the platform compared to the animated/cartoon adult games.

No harm done, and sorry if I was too abrasive on my part too.

Oh, and the sexy anime tank nazis game isn't censored. It's not even NSFW. It's just... really weird. Anyway, I only mentioned it as a joke, since you brought up curation.

I added some things to the above post. Everything there either comes from staff or publishers I've spoken with.

SultanOfSuave: Mai, mai: Children of all ages in this topic!
I wonder if the estate of Moomintroll is going to have some words edgewise?

Little My isn't quite the same as Little Mai, but a lawyer can squint their eyes.

nah, out of copyright. Moomin was created in 1945, so 80 years ago. Little My appeared first in the third book, which is from 1950, so 75 years ago. So well outside copyright (even if it was inspired by Moomin).

Tell that to Moomin Characters Oy Ltd.! Also, isn't it 70 years after the death of the author for EU works for a work to enter the public domain, or am I mistaken?

I think it'd be down if they grandfathered it with the formation of the EU and other reforms.

It’s 70 years after the first publication. However, when it comes to copyright on graphic designs, it also depends on the specific version. So, the Little My design used in the first book from 1950 is now out of copyright, but the version of Little My from the 1990s TV series or the 1995 game Moomin: The Great Autumn Festival is still protected. This is also why, famously, Mickey Mouse is technically out of copyright now, but only the design from Steamboat Willie, not the later versions of Mickey Mouse.

Very Zelda like in its approach.

Breja: That bobblehead child is nightmarish.

HunchBluntley: It looks like the rest of her body, if folded up, would fit it inside the head.
Also, Child Mai's head looks to be noticeably bigger than Adolescent Mai's. XD
just like real life
