Smannesman: I tried it yesterday and was not impressed, I might still get it during a bigger discount though.

gamesfreak64: thats too bad... i still need to do a lot before i finish the game, but the game is good, and like a user said, the quests side can be improved on.
But i think because some things look a bit like casual gaming some users might not like it , i like casual games i have loads of it on cd/dvd (retail) and a lot of DRM free bought from GG.

If there will be a sequel or so and the game stays like it is (no 3d FPS) then i will buy that aswell if the list price <=23.99
euro

" This is a game where getting your first piece of bad armor on a character is a big deal, because it makes a big difference and everybody had to bleed to get even those crummy boots to put on one person. That's right, your party of six starts off with one weapon each, not more than two pieces of armor total between them, and not enough money to buy any more ..."

correct, funny thing is that it looks like the total max weight counts for all characters?

equiping each member is abit awkward , in jagged alliance you could drop items on the floor and another member could pick them up, most games have a quick way of equiping a member, i do have to figure out how i can equip each member.

Another weird thing: a guy in that town offers to train you, i did but i did not see any stats improved, i expected to see a +x number like in baldurs and even in avadon/avernum, that shows how many points you have left to spend on a trait.
Where is that part located?
These are the small things that seem to be different, if i can figure that out i be on my way to kick some butt ingame :D
You can press "I" for inventory, or double-click on any character portrait, or press C to bring up the currently selected character. Except for items equipped on each character, inventory is shared. The weight limit for each character is shown on the character screen.

And---very very important--- if you use a book, or herbs, or go to the trainer to improve skills, the benefits do not apply until your next level-up. See page 4 of the manual under "Tips".

You'll only see it when you level up. Each character gets 4 skill points to use on every level up. If you pay this trainer guy, you'll get an extra point. If you pay him twice before level up, you'll have 6 points to use. And so on.
But it does get expensive.

thanks for the reply, its most helpful.

only until next level up? thats kinda bad, logic but bad...
combat is hard, with lots of deaths :D
so i be buried and coming back from the dead many times before i level up :D
But if you train loads of loads then you get all those stuff when i reach level 2? (still at level 1)
If so then i have no complaints cause i have almost 1 million gold pieces :D

Well, you're certainly doing something different from me then, I've barely got 1,000 gold on me right now, but I've made it to level 2. :) Are you sure you haven't got the experience to level up? The game will not jump automatically to a leveling screen. It's not a big blaring sign, but if you've got enough points, there will be a button on the character screen just to the right of the character's name that has lighted up green. There's also a little gauge/bar at the bottom of the character portrait, right above what for now would be the number "1" if you haven't leveled up any yet. If it's filled all the way with green, you're ready to level.

devoras: I own it on steam, the standard version is very much worth it. I have only played it for about 3 hours and it is fun, though the battles can be unforgiving and wizard characters seem essential in order to win them; battles can be a bit unbalanced.
avatar
Maxvorstadt: Unforgiving battles? This usually means that the battles are very hard, right? Hmm, not surre if I should buy it then.
Just make sure you have two wizards in your party and you shouldn't have any trouble with the battles

thanks for all the info its most usefull to me.

Some games usually casual games (time managment) are easy to get gold, 9 of 10 casuals use some files which are xml or .txt files just with another extension, since i had my 1st pc i started to look for these files in the game i bought in the retail store (diskettes, lateron came cd and dvd)

I read something about a xml file that neo scavenger seems to have or has been added by steam or so (in their forum) if you adapt some things you will become very strong.
there's some modding info for neo scavenger to prevent all the instant deaths

I mean i bought hundred of games (cardridges for atari 2600, c64, discs for amiga 500, cd32 pc)
those games were not cheap, so you want to win in the game.

Now i have 200 casual cdroms with time managment games (retailcd/dvd)140 hidden object games(1 on a cd so thats 140 cds)
Yup, i paid a lot for retail games :D so the entertainment guys have a good one on me :D
100 or more dvd movies, all retail ,.

You see: drinking, biking, hobbys, smoking, sporting, hollidays, going to the movies, expensive diners, etc etc
i dont do all that
so that cash goes to games and dvd :D

A guy has to have something now doesnt he :D?

Smannesman: Well I found a 'demo' version...
"demo"? why is the demo spelled as dr evil does in austin powers with his fingers:

"laser beam" :D

is it a demo or a 'd e m o' ?
where did you find that "demo" :D

demos are very very rare these days, i think because most games are crap, if they make demos the customer might see how bad it is and wont buy it :D

Lucky for us, some small companies do have demos like spiderwebs :D
Good old Jeff.

Anyone else notice that buying the "Standard" Edition then adding the Deluxe upgrade is actually 1 cent *cheaper* than buying the Deluxe Edition directly? (Not just with the discount, same thing will apply with no discount.)

Not that I'd bother doing that to save a single cent, just interesting how the math works out..

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for _not_ ramming people for upgrading editions, but I've been noticing this pattern on GOG recently.. adding "upgrades" later almost always works out $0.01 cheaper in the end..

Hmm, in Euros the Deluxe Edition is 9 cents cheaper than buying normal game + upgrade!
5 minutes to the twitch stream.
I thought the game looked quite fun on the stream.

On a side note, I told myself no buying any games till the summer sale, and I am seriously trying not to buy this game and the KB series, "ok, just buy these and that's final no more till mid summer."

Well, good luck, my friend! I can promise you that you will buy a game before summer! One day there will be a game which is so nice, funny or even only absolutely geil that you will buy, no matter how hard your wallet cries!!!
Damnit, I'm going to buy it again. If only to further support my beloved GOG. Oh, when the Steam servers are down, who cares if you have the GOG version.
