FarkOfDoge: [...]in ye medeval europe[...]
Fun fact: In Old English, the letter used in "ye" was not y, but the letter thorn (þ), which is no longer used, and was pronounced as a 'th' sound. So, the way you should read that in modern English is actually: "the medieval Europe." What you’re doing here is mixing modern and medieval English, perhaps ironic?

If you want to be more accurate, it should either be: "Middelaldlic Iuropaland" (more literal), or "Seo Middelald Iurop" (more poetic)

Xeshra: In Nier Automata End of Yorha, players can not save for at least a whole hour of gameplay
Back when I was a chiod, my parents didn't let me play for that long at once, which would have made the game unplayable for me.

The way I see it, save point systems are fine as long as they're not too far apart.

Maybe you lucked out, seeing what being terminally online or connected to tech has done to people in general.

Vainamoinen: Wants "options" and "choice" ... removes options and choice

Wants "no censorship" ... censors entire scenes and characters

Doesn't want games to be judged on the basis of a few optional scenes ... does exactly that

Wants "historical accuracy" ... except all women need to be "appealing"

Wants "realism" ... except all women need to be fuckable

Says "games aren't racist" ... literally makes game racist

Wants "no politics" in games ... literally deletes Ukrainian spelling for Kyiv and inserts Russian spelling

Then there's the alt-right dogwhistles ("based") and conspiracy theories ("infiltration [by] woke developers").

"Bigot" is wholly accurate, but other words apply as well.
Brilliant summary.
So much to talk about, but I'll just address one point I've noticed in recent years especially:
I've always wondered why these people seem to be so paranoid that the gays are going to come after them and "turn us all gay!" as if people can be magically "turned" gay by playing a game with an option. Are they afraid they will choose that option? Homophobia sure seems to be an indicator for closeted gays.

No. I hear this a lot, especially from straight people who can't imagine why other straight people would care and who therefore blame homophobia on supposedly self-hating gay people themselves. Again, no. Usually these types are just straight people who find homosexuality icky and don't want to see it.

Remember when in cold war US was researching chemical weapons to (beaten down to the basic thought) would turn the enemy soldiers gay and horny?
My thought always was - why on earth would they stop fighting because of that?

What if they like games about two best bros who like to ride their horses barechested?

/edit: Ahhh forget it. I'm just trying to find redeeming qualities.

I'm gay and I find a good chunk of the "lgbt material" shoved into modern media to be quite gay. Not the fun kind of gay mind you, but the cringe and sad kind of gay. Back in the day (pre-2000 or so) content producers were more on the ball regarding such things.

Fair enough; I'm certainly no expert.
I've just always thought how strange it was that certain people seem to have such a violent reaction to anything outside of their own norm, and that explanation made as much sense to me as anything else. But you certainly could be right.

Never mind, I just learned Theresa is not in this game and I'm not a fan of her replacement (decided to watch a review). This story went in a completley different direction than what I had hoped for. Can look past the change in Henry/Hans (as odd of a change as it is) and don't care about Musa, but the audacity to take away Theresa and not expand on family life with children alongside the realities of war. Man, I'm just disappointed with the story direction, it's rather surface level and "modern".

You guys enjoy, but I'll going to have to pass. I'll always have the first game if I want a medieval RPG experience.

botan9386: If it's possible to just romance Theresa again I'll do that instead and pretend that's the only cannon romance. xD
And you all kept quiet. Shame on you.

dtgreene: Why is *every single post* in this topic "high rated"? (Well, except the OP, which you can't uprate for whatever reason, adn the most recent ones, which haven't been there long enough.)
Because GOG removed downvoting. Before that, every single post used to be "low rated" ROFL.

**- Kiev spelt correctly**
Kyiv is correct one. That name existed before mongolian-bulgarian dialect mix called "russian" was even a thing.

Your "mod" is discarded.

Kievan letter (earliest known historic document mentioning it) uses "Kiiov" spelling in Hebrew (קייוב).

That said, established spellings are not uncommonly changing throughout history. This case is more political than practical. The change from Kiev to Kyiv is not about originality, but about making a statement against Russian occupation and imperialism.

Can someone tell me "what is this all about"?

Simply technical issues or truly some sort of DRM?

°°°°°°°°However, this "DRM-free, no internet connection needed" game comes with 3rd-party DRM agreement from Plaion GmbH. You will also need an internet connection. Plaion GmbH is the new name for KOCH media, the company that bought up Warhorse studio.°°°°°°°°

The last comment surely does sound suspicious, but who knows...

°°°°°°°I spent hours DL the files due to metering from GOG, and after that experience, the game refused to run - with or without the internet.°°°°°°°

Fact is, a good bunch of people found it "helpful"; yet i lack any clear insight related to this matter.

So far i did not get it because, firstly the price asked (full version) is a lot (120 USD for me) and if there is any critical issue... it would decrease the value for me.

So, i will need some validation and a statement... if possible at all because perhaps it has been created out of "stupidity"... it unfortunately happens.
