The awesome reverse-city builder has joined our catalog – Flooded is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount available until April 19th, 3 PM UTC!

In this RTS and reverse-city builder you’ll have to optimize our production on an island that shrinks over time. Gather enough resources to flee to safety, while the surrounding world is getting flooded.

Most likely due to global warming, the waters have risen to a level leaving only a handful of places habitable. As a small group of survivors, you need to extract resources in order to build an ark and move to a safer place. But beware, with time the waters are getting higher, leaving you with less land to use!

In its pixel art glory, there is a plethora of stuff to do in Flooded. From managing production via use of different buildings to excavating precious resources, upgrading them, finding special relics, and developing new technologies, through defending our island from other, hostile survivors, to exploring diverse islands and uncovering the engaging story.

And although Flooded is a story-driven title, it also includes rogue-lite elements. Thanks to the procedurally generated islands, each playthrough will be different, while new commanders and relics unlocked with progress will allow you to apply different strategies.

Check it out now and experience its flood of fun!

GamezRanker: There is also this bit from the same store page:

With things like the above(and the rest of the game's store page).....imho it doesn't seem like prior releases by other devs(including an illness simulator, and also a "protesting" sim.....which were both released last year). Also the game seems decent enough(quality/etc). As such, I am hesitant to fully lump it in with those other games.

Speaking of religious theming.....another quote from the same store page:

That bit, plus the part about "reaching the tallest mountain"....hmm, could it be?!?
XD Yasssss.....Super 3D Noah's Ark 2 confirmed! XD
May be true, i'll give you that (it's being really charitable). But GOG is not in short supply of these, and given their own stance on talking about Ulfric Stormcloak for example (which we discussed in private the complications that would naturally bring, to be fair to GOG), it's not hard to see with quips like that. Even if you're right about the game, i have trouble, anymore, seeing that it wasn't part of gog's curation checklist.

True enough, but again: i'd rather have ones like this than ones like the two others I mentioned in my prior post.
(also, barring stuff like very cruddy games/etc, I say the more the merrier :))

Everyone arguing about that topic while here I am getting disappointed that this game don't feel like Yokohama Kadashi Kiko where human just enjoying life as the sea keep rising and no one give a damn anymore as the humanity is in decline.
again a game on climat warming ? just boring to see all these sort of game. manipulation.

Wishlisted for now. Pretty nice art design, unique game design and guess it will have a nice gameplay loop when playing it.
Hopefully it stays a constant challenge during the entire playthrough without just being unfair the first time you encounter a new situation. That it comes with an endless mode and random maps and a story seems like a good choice as well. Guess the game will enterain for about 10-20 hours. Another similar game that games to mind might be T-Minus 30 (which have not played yet so couldn't say which one of the games might be the better choice)

kyle10: climat warming ? ...manipulation.
Global change ?... And yeah!, I guess having the truth told can be a form of manipulation...
Another strategy game with an interesting look, although I have doubts about its mechanics.
I don't know how much fun the game will be.

Waterworld is sorta like that....i.e. a number of humans acting in such a manner(especially the sea pirates). Hmm, I wonder if the movie would be good as a game now o.o

Yeah, i'm thinking we need more global cooling based games(ex: like maybe an RPG/Point N' Click based on The Day After Tomorrow).

Your posts helped me to discover:
-Yokohama Kadashi Kiko. Sounds interesting, I hope to watch it
-Waterworld had a SNES vgame. I have to know more about it
-Waterworld wikipedia refers to the book The Drowned World
From 1962... WTF! Were our past folks aware of GW since then?
I have to read that book. Sci-Fi always ahead :)

Nice talk RedRagan & GamezRanker. Thanks!

Me too...I will try to look into it some day in the near future.

I wouldn't regard this game or Waterworld as any sort of truth about climate change. There just isn't enough water on planet Earth to flood the world to that degree short of something extreme like Jupiter's moon Europa slamming into this planet. Yes, coastal areas will be in danger of being submerged but the planet will not become anywhere near an ocean world. It makes for an interesting mechanic for a game, sure, but the reasoning is rather superfluous.

Frostpunk is a pretty big one (not a RPG/PnC though)

Yeah but Waterworld is quite violent and typical American summer popcorn flick that trying too hard to be Mad Max.

YKK on the other hand has this melancholic feeling. Where people live their daily life as civilization is in decline and people just enjoying stuff while watching nature taking over the world while Alpha had to watch people she loves and care passed away or moving away while she stay the same.
