The awesome reverse-city builder has joined our catalog – Flooded is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount available until April 19th, 3 PM UTC!

In this RTS and reverse-city builder you’ll have to optimize our production on an island that shrinks over time. Gather enough resources to flee to safety, while the surrounding world is getting flooded.

Most likely due to global warming, the waters have risen to a level leaving only a handful of places habitable. As a small group of survivors, you need to extract resources in order to build an ark and move to a safer place. But beware, with time the waters are getting higher, leaving you with less land to use!

In its pixel art glory, there is a plethora of stuff to do in Flooded. From managing production via use of different buildings to excavating precious resources, upgrading them, finding special relics, and developing new technologies, through defending our island from other, hostile survivors, to exploring diverse islands and uncovering the engaging story.

And although Flooded is a story-driven title, it also includes rogue-lite elements. Thanks to the procedurally generated islands, each playthrough will be different, while new commanders and relics unlocked with progress will allow you to apply different strategies.

Check it out now and experience its flood of fun!
This one seems appealing, but I'm going to let others be the test subjects to let me know how it is first. Because the core idea could also be done very badly and unfun, too.
Is GOG worth it?
"Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink."
This game looks interesting, but it also potentially has way too much going on that could cause it to fall into the category of, "this game would have been fun if it just stuck to one thing."

I guess we'd have to talk about gog, since talking about the theme of this game is a bannable offense.

Would rather spend all my research points on Earth/Air/Water magic to fix it once and for all.
There was a demo of this one a while back. I wasn't impressed personally. Hopefully it has improved quite a bit since then.
I like the developer's name . =)

Talking about that fine piece of cinéma vérité known as Waterworld isn't allowed here?
Ye gods, what have we come to o.0 :|

A bit more ontopic: the game looks somewhat intriguing(graphical style, etc), so onto the wishlist it goes

No, i'm just forever bitter that companies don't allow us to talk about certain topics, yet turn around and immediately do so themselves.
Most likely due to global warming, the waters have risen to a level leaving only a handful of places habitable.
And before anyone throws too much of a fit, ask yourself how much it annoys you when a damn church starts hanging leaflets from your door or interrupts your family dinner to talk about the sky deity you may or may not already believe in. I'm here to buy games, and i'm sick of GOG favoring a certain political identity and then barring all discussion. I just want to know why corporations like gog are suddenly churches. Hell, even some churches allow arguments.

But, yeah, maybe from one single line this is a bit much. It just gets really fucking old.
And yet you are talking about it and derail this thread which is also against the CoC of the forum.

There is also this bit from the same store page:

But is it really the reason why you are trapped on an island, fighting for survival and trying to reach the tallest mountain? Play the story mode to find out!
With things like the above(and the rest of the game's store page).....imho it doesn't seem like prior releases by other devs(including an illness simulator, and also a "protesting" sim.....which were both released last year). Also the game seems decent enough(quality/etc). As such, I am hesitant to fully lump it in with those other games.

Speaking of religious theming.....another quote from the same store page:

As a small group of survivors, you need to extract resources in order to build an ark and move to a safer place.
That bit, plus the part about "reaching the tallest mountain"....hmm, could it be?!?
XD Yasssss.....Super 3D Noah's Ark 2 confirmed! XD

Es gibt nur Wasser Wasser Wasser überall,
doch wir haben nichts zu trinken.
Es gibt nur Wasser Wasser Wasser überall
und das Schiff droht zu versinken.

Wir brauchen Rum Rum Rum, sonst verdursten wir.
Wir brauchen Rum Rum Rum, sonst verdursten wir.
