Meet Paradox.

Europa Universalis, the mother of Paradox grand-strategy, is available now on Windows on GOG.com!

Europa Universalis wasn't the first successful grand strategy title, but it did end up being one of the biggest, deepest, and most influential titles. Primarily, it was responsible for launching Paradox Interactive into grand strategy fame and inspired their more focused spin-offs including Victoria, Crusader Kings, and Hearts of Iron. Europa Universalis is the purest of the Paradox grand strategy games, in that it touches on all aspects of building an empire - maintaining an economy, warfare, diplomacy, and colonisation. Europa Universalis is most often considered the best starting point for those who want to delve into the increasingly deep and complex world of Paradox grand-strategy games.

Take your first step into grand strategy with Europa Universalis, available now on GOG.com!

This game has a major typo on its box art. See if you can find it:

PetrusOctavianus: Nippleon.
Nipple-on, nipple-off.
As long as Bremen and Friesen are there :) I might conquer the world...

In the screenshots, it shows United Stated with the early US flag of 1776 and 13 colonies, but the date shows 1773 0.o

Maybe it's mother, but she has a daughter called EU2, now that lady has both better looks and better personality than her mom. And if don't mind little plastic surgery and cybernetic implants, mother also has a granddaughter called For the Glory, now that's a perfect woman right there. :D

Nonetheless, I think I'll still go for some cougar supreme action. ;)
I was looking at the screenshots of this game and the "arrow lines" seemed familiar to me. It reminded me of a game called "Svea Rike III" that I played several years ago. Unfortunately I lost the cd and haven't been able to find a replacement. So after seeing this today I did a little searching and stumbled upon a game called "Europa Universalis: Crown of the North". Lo and behold, "Svea Rike III" was the swedish title of this game and it turns out that this series was the predecessor of "Europa Universalis". Might have to buy this to see how it compares to Svea Rike 3. :D
Very very pleased to see this series arrive here. Just needs to release the complete collection (i.e. all 5 releases) of the 3rd iteration. Been wanting to get those here for a very very very long time!

Keep them coming Paradox!
Good news.What about musics?
GamersGate version lack them that is disappointing.
I tried Crusader Kings II and it was too much, maybe this one is ok to begin with grand strategy.

For me it was the opposite. Although i think EU is a more straightforward strategy game (that i couldn't get into at least the time i first played it!), i found Crusader Kings to be much more interesting because of the RP elements, the focus in your dynasty and all the stories you make while playing.
