Disco Elysium is now available, DRM-free. Buy the game before October 22nd, 5pm UTC and receive free copy of UnderRail.

As awesome as it sounds (it really does!) I fear I am restricted to that washed up looking guy. Not 100% since in the previous thread no one was able to answer but the screenshots strongly indicate its that guy only. So... not really on board (at least up until I feel the urge to play that dude).

The trailer says you can create your own character. The release date and features one at 1:50.

was in the middle of downloading this with gog com downloader, when it just stopped.

They do, but frankly; I do not trust them to actually mean "my own" character. I do not see any other character variants which is usually (yeah, not always) shown if possible. Right now I guess its a Planescape "my own" character thing where I totally have not my own character but could develop my own path for the premade given.

What a nice surprise, this doesn't look like the usual couchpotato/kiddie/medievalfantasy content.

Hmm it seems you are right but why the f would they advertise that in the trailer that way then. I guess it's the usual misleading tactics that are so common. I'm happy that i don't buy on impulse anymore haha.

Totally what everybody has in mind reading the lines "create your own character" or "What kind of cop you are — is up to you." :P

According to Kotcore thats the case I guess. Yeah, impulse buys have rather died down for me too. Mostly.
